We have engaged Proper Finance over a 20-year period to purchase land, residential apartments and to finance an owner-builder construction. Why I would choose a Broker vs a bank (the banks).
A bank does not really help you navigate or find a way to move forward, it takes your details and then evaluates your loan capacity and grants or rejects you. A bank does not care, if your a customer or not,  unless your very rich (and don't need them). It cares about safe profits.  A bank is just one establishment, you may have to see many, all with differing parameters and deals. Each will credit check you which is all recorded. With the internet you can shop around of course but this takes time and also time to compare deals and services and all the small print. The bank has the power, their doing you a favour in their eyes.   
A Broker gets your details and finds the best loan product for you, that suits your detail parameters. A broker sees each customer as a value, customers are their business. A broker sees and knows many banks and their deals and the likelihood of a loan approval since they can communicate in ways you cannot to banks. They can work with irregular parameters where a bank will just reject you. The broker unlike the bank works as your partner it is not a power divided relationship. It is a benefit to both parties.

As a first home owner we were very cautious in every steps we take given that we have little to no experience in buying property. But after met with 4 different mortgage brokers we finally decided to have Anton as our broker. Effective, highly experience and been upfront with what to expect I wholeheartedly recommend Anton.
