I’m from Iran and have been living in Australia for about 7 years now. I’ve been practicing my English here and there by talking to people and watching movies but never really took any classes. The number one thing that always annoyed me was, during my conversations, usually people would respond to me with; parden? What? Sorry? What was that? Etc… and I’d think to myself; “there should be something wrong with my speaking”. Over time it lowered my confidence and I got to a point that interacting with people became so hard.
I was lucky enough that, last year I met Claudia Greenstone. I stared doing some one on one sessions with her which helped me drastically. I have now clarity in my speaking and feel much more confident in my everyday interactions.
She always told me; “Mehran, it is all up to you, how much practice you put in, everyday, I’m here for you, to guide you properly and keep you in the right track”.
I appreciate her honesty, because, I actually never felt pressured to do any extra sessions with her. I did as much as I needed.
I wish I had met Claudia 7 years ago as I feel with her help in the speech therapy sessions I could have accomplished a lot more.
