$5 bin always has records a third of the price you will pay on Discogs - banging releases too, some less than a year old! Profile music is where I buy my techno and (when in stock) jungle / drum and bass.

Steve takes a personal interest in each person that enters his store, he uncovers layer upon layer to get to a deep understanding of what makes you tick musically and then forevermore he will cater to your needs. He will source and put aside music with you in mind as well as provide you with incredible recommendations to widen and elevate your music taste. Therefore, this is why so many people walk out of Steve’s store with more records happily tucked under their arms than expected!

Apart from Steve’s extraordinary musical knowledge and customer service, what makes him truly special is his extremely kind and generous personality. Apart from selling records, Steve offers support to all who enter his space - whether you are starting on your DJ journey, wanting to meet other musically likeminded people, or simply wanting advice with life. Great store for hard to find 12”, both the latest and those from back in the day. Always a great selection of mint condition used 12s too. Steve is super knowledgeable & helpful. Do yourself a favour. Let him blow your tiny mind…

A very sophisticated record shop that has next to nothing the most niche and top quality records in town. Less is more and with a limited selection, this allows the buyer to not be overwhelmed by too many records. Instead allows them to be presented with rare records that you won’t find in many other shops in Melbourne. The service by Steve is purely for the customer as he has been in the game for many years and thoroughly understands what the buyer is looking for. Can’t reccomend enough.

This shop has become my second home in recent times. Steve is the don and has pushed me to enjoy different styles compared to what I previously listened to. Would 100% recommend a visit, although be warned that you may find too many good pieces and leave hours later than anticipated!

The best record store experience in Melbourne. On top of being a super friendly and knowledgeable guy, Steve's willing to spend time to find your sound and send you out the door with killer selections, for any genre preference.

The shelves are stocked with new and old music constantly rolling through, but you won't waste time digging through crates and crates of wax - it's a super minimalist, tidy shop with the very best hand picked goodies!

Be wary - come prepared with time, an open mind, and be prepared to spend a good chunk of your paycheck!

Steve at Profile Music is one-of-a-kind and clearly not for everyone (as evidenced by some of the other reviewers). A shock to the system at first, you quickly realise that Steve is one of the most passionate and experienced vinyl dealers on the scene. You’ll walk out of his store with a bag full of heat, slightly confused about how you so willingly parted ways with your week’s pay.

Always friendly and warm, I enjoy Steve's company even more than the music. His passion to have you leave happy is not compromised by the retail industry; there have been times when Steve has honestly recommended waiting on purchases for something more my taste to.arrive, and consequently has lost a sale. This store is no joke. If you are serious about music this is for you. Steve will tear you apart and show you the sounds you never knew you really wanted to hear. Have never met someone with such a deep understanding of electronic music and he is very well priced - be warned though, i was spending my pay check every week for 5 months its an addiction!

Profile music is without a doubt the best record store in Melbourne. I have been collecting and digging for quality wax for a few years now, but it was when I went into Steve’s store around 12 months ago that I started to understand the beauty of this craft. This guy knows his meat and potatoes, and from the moment you walk in he will take you on a ride through some beautiful tunes. Steve has a knack for catering to your tastes but also expanding them.

I love this guy and I appreciate profile music so much! Take the time to listen and chat. And buy a record when he tells you to, you’ll never regret it.
