Privileged Punjab / Paradise Indian Restaurant reviews
66We got some takeaway from here and the food was delicious - was meant to try and save some for leftovers but every little piece and drop of sauce was eaten. Would recommend.
Was looking forward to a nice curry but unfortunately not what I expected. Beef vindaloo was so salty that I had to add my own yogurt to try even out the flavour. It wasn’t spicy enough either.
I’m no chef but I would recommend tasting the food before you serving it as it seems I’m not the only one that’s found the flavours to be either too sweet or too salty. It’s a shame because I look forward to my Monday night curries and I was pretty dissatisfied.
I used to enjoy the Single Deal which was $28. I see it's gone up to $35.99!
I won't buy into unnecessary price gouging. Will try somewhere else. Shame, I used you guys regularly
They need to hire more people as they could not keep up with the orders. Delivery people have to wait 15mins to pick up their orders. Some customers with take away food have to wait about half and hour for their order and looked unhappy. The entrance door doesn’t shut properly so everytime people goes in and out it stays open. We have to shut the door so the wind doesn’t blows inside during winter. But other than that, the service is good and so is the food. Roti Naan is a must try and best pair it with beef korma with briyani.
Asked for MILD paneer curry and got curry with so much sugar. I will not exaggerate but its was so sweet that felt like eating paneer halwa. Unfortunately it was a takeaway.
Worst daal makhani ever, too much salt and tasted like daal tadka, butter naan was burnt and chewy.what a disappointment!
We enjoyed our family lunch. The spoce level does vary from kids-mild to spicy.
This is the first tike my 8yrs and 7yrs old boys tell the chef that they loved the Indian food (btw, we are from a Middle Eastern ethnic background which Indian food is not so much eaten at home)
Will revisit again for sure spwcially it is Halal
Tried the Goan fish curry and Punjabi chicken curry. The chicken curry was too salty and the fish curry was mostly flavourless. The chicken curry was also very oily. Naans were too thick and a bit rubbery. I wouldn't go back and it's definitely not worth the price.
Badly organised. Felt sorry for the lone server who was rushed off her feet, and appeared to be very stressed as there was a large group of people to be attended to, in addition to atrending to people ordering take-aways. Kitchen needs to lift up their game and dispense food in an organised manner - our starter (onion bhajas) came after the mains, and appeared to have been deep-fried more than once, as they were dripping in greenish-looking oil. Not a good look, especially if one thinks of potential damage to the liver. The butter-chicken that was ordered never came. Anyhow, not impressed.
Food delivered 16 Jan 22.
Was pretty excited to try this place after hearing good things.
Question - If one of your three items is rancid, would you still eat the other two?
The beef vindaloo smelled great, rice looked fresh, but unfortunately the raita was so rotten that I just couldn't trust the food. Straight in the bin.
I called the restaurant and was offered a replacement raita. No thankyou. Really not sure how this could happen but won't give a second try when food safety is a concern.
Edit:
Why on earth would I go back?
Menulog has not even refunded, suggesting that I provide constructive feedback.
I've done so, through City of Darebin and the Department of Health. If this experience is indicative of how your food is stored, then I suggest you need more than feedback.
Everything is super tasty here.
I happen to love garlic but just a warning the garlic naan is VERY GARLICY.
Will definitely be ordering here again
I dont know why I didnt find this before. I would start with a Thankyou to the team for serving really tasty food. We ordered chicken briyani, which i felt was chicken Tawa pulav but it tasted really nice. Chicken vindaloo was amazing and spicy (as expected) too. I am going back again.
One request, could you pls change the playlist and add some more songs.
The Dal Makhani here is just incredibly good. So is the butter naan. One of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne, specifically for take out and delivery options.
Last week i got food from them and it was really bad, food was overcooked and really beyond disgusting, after that I call the restaurant and tell them that i am not eating that garbage and i need my refund and they said alright but haven’t got anything, Everyone who is reading if you want to save your money, time, effort’s don’t go there. I bet you will regret your decision
I ordered through menulog tonight as a first time customer. I haven't eaten Indian for sometime as it's been pretty average but I am so happy I tried this place!
I ordered a curry that I've never ordered elsewhere and I didn't love it (that's on me for not getting my typical vindaloo or saag) but the more I ate, the more I enjoyed it. It was cooked perfectly and flavour was good.
Everything else was sooo good. The garlic and cheese naan was the best naan I've ever had, the other entrees were so full of flavour and balanced perfectly.
Delivery was hot, the cheese was still soft and stretchy on arrival.
I think I've rediscovered my love for Indian!
It was also great value, big generous servings for a pretty low price.
This place is really good for people who are love to eat indian variety of spicy food! One of the best indian restaurant in preston! Must visit once!
I love the food just amazing I tried the food first time and it was amazing friendly staff Thanks to Robin for amazing service.
I had great experience with both services dine in &take away. Super delicious food serve with smiley and caring staff. I love you your MALAI KOFTA. I would recommend to you go once and get Indian flavor
Delicious. Seriously good classic takeaway Indian, lamb madras x Punjabi chicken
I will not get any other Indian takeaway in Melbourne ever again
Small restaurant. But the food WOW. The butter chicken, lamb Rogan Josh, garlic naan bread all mouthwatering. Well worth the visit to eat in or order a takeaway. You won't be disappointed
