Just the best and most beautifully maintained park and amenities! Absolutely love Powlett River and all the staff

A great clean and well maintained park. Very grateful to get us in at very late to no notice on a Saturday arvo in January. Pet friendly and they even had some live music for campers on Saturday night.

Very pretty and well maintained park. Large grassy sites. Short walk through the ti tree to the river and beach. We were disappointed to have to leave early as the weather was diabolical!

Another amazing long weekend away in this peace of paradise.
Our home away from home with the sounds of the ocean to put us to sleep after days walking the river, beach, bush and bike riding the bay trails.
Beautifully maintained by hosts with the most.

This visit to Powlett River was our first trip away in our caravan, so total novices. We were met and greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner. The campsite was perfect, the facilities were immaculate, so clean. We took our dog with us and followed all the rules. We absolutely loved Piwelett River Campsite and only hope this is the start of a huge adventure for us. We can ecommend this campsite to everyone. Thank you Lesley and Tony

Beautiful clean park, well maintained by Carol and Rob, who are lovely. Disappointed we couldn't have own fire pit, as two adults and two kids, asked to share common fire pit that was not really available, as the other 3 sites that shared it with us were altogether, making no room to share. As it got very cold at night by 7, we had no choice but to stay in our tent with a heater to stay warm.thankfully it was a powered site. The beach and river would be best suited for warmer weather. Booked for 3 nights but only stayed 2. Not great for this time of year.

Nice grassed sites, some with power and water. Reasonable prices even on a long weekend. Clean showers and toilets and dump points are available. A short trek through the bush to access the river mouth and ocean beach

I’m a bit annoyed with this caravan park.
I rang back in February to book for Cup Weekend and was told they wouldn’t be taking bookings until after Easter for Cup weekend.
I then called twice & left messages - once before Easter weekend and then once on Saturday 16 April - both times requesting to book. No reply.
I have now called today 26 April (after Easter) and suddenly they’re completely booked out!
Don’t know what you have to do to get a booking here or whose pocket you have to sit in but it’s an absolute joke!
Won’t be bothering in future because this is absolutely poor management at its finest!

The most beautiful place we have stayed at!
We will definitely be back!
After having an awful experience with another caravan park, the lady who runs this was very accommodating and ensured that we were happy and comfortable.
Pricing is very reasonable and the views of the beach are amazing!
This caravan park is perfect for everyone as their is fishing available in the river aswell as a nice place to sit and play on the beach.
They're also dog friendly which is a major bonus!

We are a family of four. We booked a site for one night (29/01/2022). This was a bad mistake. Book here at your own peril as it will turn into a nightmare if you do something that the owners (a husband and wife team) do not like. The husband is particularly aggressive and obnoxious. Our 15 year old son made the mistake of burning wood in our (fully enclosed) Weber barbeque while the rest of the family went to the beach, ready to cook a meal when we returned. The barbeque was in a clear area and the lid was on before our son left for the beach shortly after us. This was a mistake as you're not supposed to leave the barbeque unattended (we found out later). When we returned to the site, "Rob" drove up to our site in his tractor. He immediately proceeded to interrogate us about why our son had lit a fire in the barbeque and afterwards ordered us to immediately leave the park. This was extremely distressing for a family of four first time campers. This was not a total fire ban day, the "fire" was actually in a Weber BBQ, the lid was put on the barbeque before our son left for the beach, a water tap and 20 litre bucket were within 3 -4 metres of the barbeque. There is an ash collection tray under the cooking area. A polite advice that the barbeque should not have been used and/or left unattended would have been sufficient. What a trauma over a simple mistake by a 15 year old boy! Interestingly, the "Park Rules" handed to us state "No gas, wood or charcoal BBQ's on "Total Fire Ban D. " This indicates to me that wood BBQ's are permitted when it is not a Total Fire ban day. The owners should not be running a business that requires patience and people skills. It's time they retired or went back to farming so that they don't have to communicate with people. Stay here at your own peril!

The problems started right from check in. This man running the park was extremely difficult to deal with. Although the park is lovely and well maintained this man managed to spoil everyone’s weekend. We are a group of 18 over 55’s included in this group were 2 clinical psychologists, nurses, teachers, engineers, government workers, business owners and some over 60 retirees. We camp all over Australia and have never been treated so rudely by any other park owner.
We stayed Friday and Saturday nights and approx 3 sites (which 12 people could stay on) were booked for the Sunday night but we hadn’t finalised numbers staying. On Sunday morning all our tents were extremely wet so we were waiting for them to dry and another member had a very bad case of gout and was having difficulty walking. The man came over and said we were taking too long to pack up so we offered to pay an extra night even though most were leaving. Offering a solution. He would not allow us to pay for the night which equated to an extra two hours of time we used but instead stood glaring at us packing up. Then on Monday morning sent me a text message still complaining about late check out and after we all left complained about a dog in the toilet. As in his own comments we had already left. Unbelievable and so abusive.
The member with gout was in extreme pain and wasn’t safe to drive 2 hours home. The man refused him to stay and actually ordered him out of the park. Disgraceful.
We all appreciate rules but this is absolutely over the top and completely uncompromising. Not one ounce of common sense or compassion here. Not the right person in a customer service position. I have now read other reviews and this man has caused a lot of problems for other people too.

Absolute gem of a place. Big sites, plenty of green space for kids to run around. Owners are very friendly & accommodating. Show you to your site. Short walk to safe swimming beach.

This was our second time back, this time staying 7 days and we loved it just as much. We got there on a Saturday and it was quite busy and a bit noisy, but Sunday when most people packed up, ahhh, the peace & quiet was bliss. Well besides the roaring of the Southern Ocean just up behind the dunes! Those noises are absolutely epic, we really thought there was thunder a couple of times. The birdlife, the hills and exploring through the Teatree forests are really beautiful. The river has closed off from the ocean since our last trip, so the river beaches are much smaller now which was sad and the river seems to be salt instead of the lovely fresh water previously, but still lovely to swim in and walk along. A bonus to this however is now you can get to the dunes without traversing the river which was a nice adventure.

We'd like to say a massive thank you to Rob, Carol and to Rob's brother John & his wife who were there for the first few days as Rob & Carol were themselves on holidays when we arrived, for their help & kindness. We had engine troubles on our way down to Powlett River, thankfully we made it but didn't know how we were going to get home. Long story short, with their help, advice and offers from their family, we got home safely and it was just so nice to feel their support and kindness, it took away some of the anxiety we had.

We can’t wait to come back! (Especially our pup Kobe who discovered she actually loves swimming after 8 years haha.)

Great park. Absolutely horrible man running site. Kicked our group out, was irrational with reason, and generally should be not be in put in front of people as a manager. Park itself is terrific, however he made a great weekend with seasoned campers who have camped at many places, and all are generally easy going a disappointment at the end. This man is better suited to running a farm.

Saw a similar post in reviews, so we are not the only ones.

Keep reading. Rude man, irrational decisions when questioned, and makes it up as he goes.as for complex health issues in past comments, I suggest they re occurred.

Demanding to stay with asking.how does one do that when asking to extend and pay?

That is hardly demanding without asking.

Great river and ocean access from the campsite with safe and relaxing river access.
Exceptionally well maintained campsite.
It's not a Big4 caravan park so don't expect all the play equipment. It's just a wonderful place to get out and enjoy the environment with the family.
We'll be back again next year.

Great park. Well maintained and very welcoming hosts. Would've loved to have stayed longer but due to its popularity it is booked for a few weekends in advance. Will recommend and hopefully stay again.
