I’m half way through the 5 day pottery intensive, focusing on hand building skills and I LOVE it! Becca is a great teacher! This will be my third term at this pottery studio and I can’t wait to build on my skills this year. If you are looking for great vibes, really encouraging teachers and excellent equipment & supplies - Pot Dispensary is for you!

I did a one off wheel throwing class with a friend and we had the best time! Came away with 3 items in a beautiful white/grey glaze which I picked up about 6 weeks later. The class had x10 people and the teachers were very hands-on. I needed a lot of help and they were very encouraging and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love what Alex has achieved at pot dispensary! The teachers are super friendly and helpful in the classes and it’s a great way to switch the brain off as you focus on the muscles in your arms and hands to shape the clay into something beautiful on the wheel.

Trying new things can be intimidating, but starting my pottery journey at Pot Dispensary has genuinely been one of the best decisions I've ever made! I first took the beginners 6 week wheel throwing term and could not have had a more incredible experience. The teachers are super friendly, approachable, knowledgable, and have helped me make things I never dreamed I'd be capable of making! I had so much fun that I've now done a second term and recently signed up for a studio membership - I'm officially addicted.

Very disappointed in our experience at Pot Dispensary.
My partner and I did the 1 off class that was supposed to go for 2 hours - they only gave us 1.5hrs in total! We both felt very rushed the whole time and the teachers hardly helped my partner (first time doing pottery) with his piece. He was still trying to centre the clay for 3/4 of the class, with no assistance. He only managed to complete 1 item (not very well) for the whole session. The teacher came across as passive-aggressive too. When I picked the pottery up after they fired and glazed our pieces, the glaze was a mess. There are dripping marks and a few overlaps that changed the colour and left line marks. My partner asked the teachers to put a small hole in his piece for incense and they didn't. Do not recommend this business.

I booked a 2 hour beginners class for me and my partner. Very friendly and helpful staff, had lots of fun learning pottery. Highly recommend.

I had a really lovely time at Pot Dispensary! Abbey gave a great demonstration that was clear and very easy to follow, and she helped us along the way if we needed/wanted some expert hands. Was a small and fun group of beginners, and good vibes in the studio with music and Aggie the pup. Thank you to the team for a really lovely intro to wheel throwing - I’m signing up to the course of 6 classes and am really looking forward to it!

Have loved the 2 classes I’ve done at the Pot Dispensary (a hand building class and an intro to wheel throwing) - enough that I’m now going to sign up for a 6 week term! A lovely studio and shop with really knowledgeable, kind and helpful teachers and small group classes. Can’t wait to pick up my pieces soon, and learn more in the term classes!

Did the 6-week term whilst I was studying full time. Honestly the best part of my week. Most peaceful 2hrs ever the girls there are just the sweetest (plus tea on arrival? !). Could not recommend enough.

Love this place! Great teachers - warm, skilled, great communicators and so encouraging. My pieces were saved by skilled hands several times! Lovely space too - great vibes. Cool background music which is always a plus. Lovely other students too. Highly recommend and have signed up for another term.

The most beautiful pottery studio with great classes. I had never done pottery before but Alex and the team at Pot Dispensary created a very welcoming and fun environment for our class. They were always helpful and accomodating, and my friend and I had the best time. They also sell beautiful ceramics if, like me, your pottery pieces might be best destined for the cupboard:)

Alex and the team are so warm, fun and are incredible teachers. My throwing skills have significantly improved and classes are always a highlight of my week.

By far the best ceramic studio in melbourne. I took the "SIX WEEKS: LEARN THE BASICS OF WHEEL-THROWING" class and could not recommend it more. If you are considering trying out pottery, this is the perfect place for you. My friend is more of an experienced ceramicist, and she took the "TEST YOUR WHEEL-THROWING SKILLS" six week course for intermediate/advanced students. She was equally impressed by the expert knowledge and high calibre of teaching. All the staff are supportive, patient and very capable at working with students of all abilities. ANDDD they sell GORGEOUS pieces, from plates to vases to mugs etc. The pieces I have purchased impart a wholesome and elegant feel to my house. If I was considering a larger commercial scale contract I'd without hesistation head here for that too.

A fun way to get creative and learn from some of the best in the industry! Alex brings such great energy to the classes and her ceramic creations are stunning!

Stumbled upon this store on my way to the market. Such a sweet store filled with local ceramics, with a pottery studio in the back.

Will have to come back with some friends and give pottery on the wheel a go.

Such a fun place to take a class at! Jayden is a wonderful teacher and makes all his students feel comfortable at the wheel ️ I will definitely be taking more classes here!

Lovely little studio with super friendly teachers. Becca was so helpful guiding us through the beginner classes and giving us all tailored tips to make sure our works were solid and beautiful!

Alex and the team are so incredibly patient and very kind - they generously share their ceramic knowledge and skills with their students and always have delicious snacks on hand in their classes. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about ceramics! They also have an awesome selection of pots, teas and incense available in their shop front, which make excellent gifts!

I went to Pot Dispensary for a gift recently and the service and products were both amazing!

The staff were really friendly and recommend an awesome vase which made for the perfect gift, will definitely be returning soon!
