I see a lot of negative reviews here, which kinda spurred me to make my own review.

I have been a patient of Dr Daniels for around 2 years. I can't speak to whether this is a good place to take your children.

However, as an adult, I was always treated very politely by the reception (I have no idea what these reviews are referencing about rude reception, maybe I come on different days, this is the nicest reception I've dealt with mostly).

As a weekly adult patient, I've felt respected, well treated. My one gripe is that despite paying for an hour of therapy, the session is usually ended or pressured to end at around the 45 minute mark. I hate this.

$550 for a letter report? A little expensive, in the end it was well written and well presented.

I would not recommend this practice or the psychologists to anyone. The psychologist I saw had very poor communication skills, breached many boundaries, was unprofessional, displayed a lack of confidentiality, neglected my wellbeing, was insensitive, and demonstrated poor therapeutic practice and a serious lack of therapeutic expertise. A very upsetting and disappointing experience. I am bewildered as to how this man is able to practice. I have made complaints to the Health Complaints Commissioner andAHPRA.

Positive Psychology provided us with expensive services that we had to discontinue due to the expense. They did not tell us about ECEI NDIS funding that would have paid for some of this and future treatment. The website of the Health Complaints Commissioner states that “All Victorian health services must [. ] provide adequate and clear information about treatments, costs and other options’. " Positive Psychology did not do this.

Second rate, unprofessional psychologists. I dealt with Peter Kyriakoulis who was rude, dismissive and completely unhelpful. He obviously has issues with women. I won't ever waste my time or money with this practice again or recommend to anyone else.

The receptionist with the cold energy demanded I pay for the remainder of my last appointment (which was already paid for), as well as for the appointment I hadn’t had yet. She apologised later, but set me off on a bad tone for my appointment.

The person I’ve been seeing (Steven) only seems to invalidate everything I have to say (despite me not usually arriving at conclusions easily), for no other reason than what seems to be a projection of him identifying himself as intellectually superior. So it kind of seemed pointless to bother saying anything. Long drawn out silences after I speak, followed by “hmmm”, chin scratching, smugly delivering one reason (usually the most negative and obvious) as to why a situation is a certain way, god forbid it be a combination of things.

I’ve had 4 appointments now and I’ve barely scratched the surface of anything, I brought in some notes to my first appointment and they were shoved off. Why ask questions if you’re already prepared to give zero value to the answer, regardless of what it is. So there leaves zero hope for painting a picture, when the person who asked you to paint it keeps kicking over the paints. Then chooses to move onto creating strategies with info they don't even have. I saw someone else recently and was basically able to breeze through everything.

I've seen Steven and really appreciated his approach and found his recommendations very helpful.

My son had one appointment at the Mornington office seeing Steven.
As my son has trust issues, especially with people like psychologists that he is going to be opening up to, he asked if it was ok for me to come in? He was told it was fine but even my son got the distinct impression that I was very unwelcome to be sitting there in support of him. NOT that this was going to be an ongoing thing me being in there.
He kept on telling him that all his issues were caused by his anxiety and that it was highly unlikely that anything physical could be making them worse.
We both felt like that Steven wasn't interested in what he was saying. And if I spoke up, the look I received was vile making both of us very uncomfortable.
Neither of us was impressed with Steven as a professional and my son didn't really like him due to his attitude. However he was going to give him one more go. So we booked another appointment only to have him cancel it and refer us to someone else as he suddenly "Looked in his diary and realised he couldn't accommodate him. " Which just felt like an excuse because he just didn't want to see him, with me as support, again.
We have now found another psychologist to treat him.
Very unprofessional.

Unfortunately I had a poor experience at the business.
No return phone call and was very unimpressed with the "professional" I dealt with.
Add to these issues the long wait to get a consultation and I feel I'm only giving two stars due to one staff member behind the front desk being nice to deal with

Abrupt staff. Unprofessional. For a service to support challenged and vulnerable people - I think someone should let the staff know.
DO NOT USE. Try Vita Health. Much better service.

The actual psychologists here? Great.
The staff? That's another story.

Very difficult to work with, very unfriendly.

And flexible? Here's a fun story;

I paid up a whole year, cool right?
Six months in when I had to go to hospital?

Yeah that will be a $30 non attendance fee.

Seriously.

The HOSPITAL.

Hey, here's a better idea. I'll go somewhere else.

The people, great. The business? Let's just say needs work.
