Portsea Golf Club reviews
10 Fantastic decision to decline Daniel Andrew's request for membership. Trash is not allowed on the fairway.
A+ Golf Club
Kudos!
One of the best courses in Australia, and management has a keen sense of fairness and integrity when choosing whether to accept or decline a membership application.
For some people, two stairs is just too many stairs. Wouldn’t want him to “fall”.
Fantastic standards regarding declining membership applications for this club.
Well done, and fantastic marketing too.
What's not to like now?
Much improved and more enticing to travel for 1,5 hr and play golf there; new and well stocked club house, friendly staff at 7 am, nice food (need better coffee), plenty of reasonably priced wines on the list or stay at the mercure hotel.
Will come back and play a better round.
Well done members.
I would like to share my unforgettable memory which happened at Jan 24,2023, the day I played here for the first time. Before starting my 18 holes play, I had a short warm-up time at the practice zone besides the 1st hole teebox using my wedge clubs, 54 and 56 degrees, which are my most favorite weapons to make my score better always. I started my play after practice and realized that I had left one of my wedges while I was at 5th hole, so I hurried to call proshop whether someone lighted upon my club and brought it to you, but the answer was negative. I couldn't focus my game during the whole time I was playing, moreover it started to rain and soar thunderous sound during the back 9 holes. As soon as my round finished, I fortunately gave a deep sigh of relief because a kind proshop staff, the only man remained at the proshop, was waiting for me with my club. I sighed with a relief at last, however, I faced much more disasterous situation because I recognized my cellphone lost somewhere during my play. It was already over 5PM, the weather condition was getting tough to find something, and the course was too vast to scout about for this small thing. I was getting more nervous and completely out of my mind. But the super-kind guy in proshop (Sorry, I cannot remember your name) helped me again to allow for me to use the motorized cart to find my phone. Despite of his great hospitality, I could not find my phone anywhere, so that I almost gave it up with huge frustration. By the way, this superman or genius started to search internet and finally got a way to find my phone's location! We ran to the place with buggy, and I saw THE MIRACLE to get my phone back safely! Sorry for my long writing, but I truly and sincerely appreciate from the bottom of my heart. To everyone who are gonna to play at Portsea GC, I'd like to say in short; Are you looking for the best golf course in Australia? It is here, definitely, Period.
Magnificent course in excellent condition, and greens very fast. An overall challenging course, particularly from the back tees.
Beautiful course, should you have a motorized cart or electric cart for steep fairway. We booked motorized carts but were told all motorized carts are not available later.
Course holding up well for the wet conditions, greens running ok, just a little hard to read due to the rain, bunkers better this time round, wet heavy sand, much better than the unraked concrete we hit off last time.
Played there yesterday with Social Golf Australia, got there early for brekky, and then played golf after.
Absolutely great experience, other than the weather didn't always play nice.
Been there 3 times now and always a positive experience.
This is awesome place for a full swing. It will boost your will to work harder for your future.
