The staff today was upset that I disturbed their conversation to ask for help with a size. I told her it wasn’t on the rack and she goes whilst rolling her eyes “JUST CHECKING”

I used to really love portmans but I've just had too many poor experiences there lately. The staff are nice enough, however don't greet as a priority and also don't check on customers in the change rooms to see if they need sizing etc. They also offer no help I'm finding specific items. I went in specifically looking for a new dress for an event and was holding about 10 in my arms and no one offered to put them in a change room for me so I could freely look around. When I was trying them on I had to shout from the change room for assistance to do a zip up as no staff were down the back end and I gave up waiting on someone to come down. While I used to find their range unique from similar brands, but it seems they have started to go down the cookie cutter route for styles as well. Another inconvenience is that they seem to pile every single piece of stock onto an already crammed floor. Such a shame.
