Portland Tourist Park reviews
54Staff were very friendly, good to see trees have been planted for future shelter, disturbances of noise from other campers after 10pm and up to 4am. Disappointing. Not enough toilets to meet all the requirements of campers. Three ladies toilets and two enclosed mens toilets. Great to have an area for the dogs to run.
Didn't appreciate the party going on directly across the road until 2: 00, after travelling for 10 hours that day. Locals could have some respect for where they are and times to quite down.
Then the rooster crowing outside our cabin before sunrise wasn't exactly ideal either.
Drifting off to sleep with the magical sound of waves breaking on the nearby beach was soothing. Pretty much everything is within walking distance of this historic township tourist park
Found the staff unfriendly and not happy.asked for new supplied. I had booked 3 cabins for 3 nights with 9 adults.we were told no. I personally wouldn't booknthere sgain
On arrival staff were very friendly. Our cabin looked really nice from the outside and was equally nice inside. We had a cabin with 2 queen beds which were very comfortable. Loved our big bathroom which usually they are tiny. Lovely big shower and was so spacious. Kitchen was modern and there was a big corner lounge suite enough for at least several people. Heating was great and TV in a good spot. We stayed in cabin 3. The park itself was neat and had several ensuite sites. They also have a new Lifestyle village which has reasonably great priced houses or units. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bay is very close by as is town which is a nice stroll away. We found it to be a very quiet area and reasonably priced. We'd stay there again.
I booked in advance for two nights and provided my credit card information. I wasn't allowed to stay for the following reason. I sleep in the back seat of my car. My height allows that. This is my fourth month-long road trip through Australia. I've always slept in the car in at least a hundred caravan parks. This was never a problem for management. At this caravan park it is! The lady at the front desk told me it was fine if I either slept in a campervan, a tent or if I had a mattress in my car. We're actually a tourist park and we have a lot of problems with homeless people sleeping in their cars, she replied. But I'm a normal tourist, I said. I was so taken aback that I could hardly say anything. Apart from the fact that I already had my payment method on file, I don't think homeless people have the luxury of staying in a caravan park. The lady talked to the boss again. He stuck to his rule that it was one of the terms of the deal. I couldn't read about it online. I find the comparison outrageous and even more ridiculous. Please write your questionable terms and conditions on your homepage before anyone books. I'm sure I'm not the only tourist who sleeps in her normal car. She found me two other parks with their phone numbers. It's not her fault, she just has to enforce the weird rules. I drove on and didn't have a discussion about how I sleep in the next park.
Wonderful and big caravan park, powered sites, cabins and ensuite sites. Lovely clean amenities and nice camp kitchen. Kids play area and very friendly and helpful staff. Close to town.
Nice place except for the screeching cockies at 9 pm and 6.30am everyday. The park had all the usual amenities camp kitchen, playground, jumpy balloon, clean toilets, and a huge book swap library. I would visit again.with ear plugs ha ha
Poor customer service. Very rude to customers on numerous occasions.
Sliding doors came of tracks alot. No recycle services available or visiable. We dont expect alot. Not value for money in our opinion.
Pleasant check-in experience, we stayed for one night on an unpowered camping pitch.
Check out time was 10am.
Camping pitches were not marked out but we were the only camping pitch that evening so we were told to just take whatever space we needed. Overall the park was very quiet when we stayed, which was lovely!
WiFi was decent but I think there being a limited number of people onsite helped with the speed. WiFi password was communicated via text but we didn't receive it as using an international number but could get code easily enough from reception.
Camp kitchen was clean, spacious and had indoor sofas and seating if you were cold.
Bathrooms in an outside cabin, all clean and functional. Water for the showers was hot.
Local Koala community within the park, so you can take a walk around and go Koala hunting!
About a 15 minute walk along the coast to the main town.
If in the Portland area would stay here again.
Beautiful rooms, helpful and polite staff, wonderful environment and plenty of stuff for kids
Powered site.was excellent and the people, both working and staying there, were lovely and very helpful
Love it very clean and you can take your, only problem is I only had a week's holiday
My wife and I and two dogs had a wonderful time at the PortlandTourist Park, the staff there, especially Kathy were wonderful, professional and very friendly. Would recommend the park for anyone wanting to stay in Portland. Our two cocker spaniels loved the dog run at the park. The ensuites were the best we have ever experienced.
Thanks to the team there.
Ensuite site, great. Staff and most people here are friendly especially the lady who helped me out with directions as she has been coming here for 12 years.
We were lucky enough to be able to book a spa cabin for our 4 night stay. These are modern, clean, very comfortable cabins and the best we’ve ever stayed in. The kitchen is fantastic with good quality cookware and kitchenware plus an oven and cooktop. Highly recommended.
Nice place enjoyed our stay Rec.room was awesome love the that it bbqs, cooktop, oven microwaves, kettle, fridge, TV and a great place to meet other campers and it was nice and cosy with a fire heater and free wood.
Great Park. Friendly, helpful staff. Ensuite was awesome and very clean. Would recommend highly if you have dogs. Only short walk to town or the esplanade.
The toilets are clean and well maintained. The cabins seem to be extremely close, within half a metre of other cabin. Not much privacy.
A very clean well run place, had the standard cabin for 5 and was fantastic.saw the local koala in tree on property.thank you
