Porter's Paints

There are many things I'd rather do than interior painting. It's not a job I'll ever enjoy. While Porters can't do anything about the unpleasant preparation and cleanup steps, their wall paint was a delight to use. This paint is thick with pigment - the experience of brushing onto a wall was almost sensuous and it showed a welcome disinclination to fall or spatter from the paintbrush or roller.
The Porters staff were very helpful in choosing colours and talking to us about their paints. While their paints are a premium product, if you take into account that we used fewer coats on our wall than when we painted with a bigger brandname product, the final cost is not that different.
We will be back.in a while.when I can face the next painting job.

Always excellent customer service and the paints are superb.
We had our builder that was completing repairs after last year's flooding, use the perfect floor paint. He hasn't used it before, but was super impressed with the finish and mentioned it several times!
I will be back for further projects!

Staff member with the purple hair is rude and provided the wrong advice about gloss levels.

Extremely unhelpful staff, second time in there trying to look for a bit of help and the answer as always “ I don’t know - there’s some cards help yourself” …. Kudos to the staff in Fitzroy the girl in there went above in beyond helping me finding what I was looking for. To anyone reading this don’t bother to come in with questions they won’t help you, you better go to porter’s in Fitzroy.

Exceptional customer service. After reaching out to Porters Paint Prahran for help with colours and paints to use whilst in lockdown I was served over the phone by Christina (showroom manager). Christina went out of her way to provide suggestions on colours and how to achieve particular styles/ techniques. Her helpful and honest approach was extremely beneficial.

Spoke to Christina several times over the past few days with regard to colours to match some existing painted outside walls on my house. Outstanding advice and products. After an unsuccessful application of pressure pack gold (fade and discolouration) I was advised by Brett to give Aquagild Gold a go. WOW! Simply amazing. Easy to apply and clean up with outstanding results after just 2 coats.

Great staff. Good store location. And of course great product. Parking can be tricky but hey, that's the inner city.

I have been going to porters for 20 years. Their paints are great. Moreover, im not good with colour and the staff are extremely helpful. They clearly are trained in interior design

Old fashioned quality service from lovely staff. A fantastic array of colours and finishes and a very high quality product.

Just be aware that they close weekdays at 5pm.

I’ve been into porters twice and the customer service is terrible the older lady who seems to run the store is just rude, both times she made it seem like serving me was beyond her and I will never use them again

Great selection of unique paints & styles and I was very happy with the service and of course the final result on the wall.

Linda's professional knowledge of product and colour is second to none. Hand-painted colour swatches, the beautiful colour wall in unique Porter's colour, and the creamiest paints in town. What's not to love?
