Porterhaus Moonee Ponds

Very nice butcher shop. I tend to buy all our meat here whenever I can, as it takes at least 15-minute drive, but it's definitely worth it. I like their selection and the convenience of placing an order by phone and picking it up at a suitable time, ensuring I get it even if I come late in the afternoon. It's very convenient for people who live far away.

They also sell sauces that you can't find in a regular supermarket, as well as a different mix of grains.

Good quality meat, particularly the beef and lamb. Great customer service, always friendly and happy to chat. Would be 5 stars, just wish they didn't use bare hands to handle the meat. Recommend some gloves gents!

Saw the tomahawks in the window earlier in the week. Popped in on Friday and was informed they only had one. Butcher rang their other store and 2 wonderful tomahawks were promptly delivered. They were both devoured that night and were of exceptional quality.
Will definitely be back.

Had an appointment in Moonee Ponds then felt like a steak. Totally random visit never been here before. Bought a prime rib on the bone about 700 gms omg amazing flavour and texture. Definitely recommend. Lucky Moonee Ponds residents!

Friendly, helpful, fast and reliable delivery, superb customer service and most importantly they sell the finest quality of meat. For someone who is a 'fussy' meat eater, I can't recommend them enough. Through weekly visits to Nicole and Chris' butcher, the team have become like family to us. Absolutely loved the rump cap with great cooking instructions from the very friendly butcher, all staff were so friendly and got the old school service that you don’t find any where these days. Won’t buy my meat any where else And I travel to purchase because of this. Highly recommend thanks again guys

Came in the other day looking for a nice roast, the butcher who served me a younger short balding man, had a terrible attitude. When I entered I "greeted the man with a good morning mate, how are you? " he responded with a finger in the air while holding his phone. When asked for some input on flavour he seemed to not know and as if he wanted to rush me out.

I'm not sure what happened, used to be a really well run and friendly butcher. Looks like I'll be looking for a new butcher.

Best Butcher shop around. Been going for 6+ years and have never had a bad bit of meat. Friendly staff more than willing to help. Highly recommend the eye fillet steak.

Rocky & his crew are the best butchers in the known universe for my mind. If I know exactly what I want.quick & out. But if it's a cut or recipe I'm unfamiliar with, they either know what I need, or present alternatives & deliver. The sausages are works of art. The Middle Eastern Lamb banger is too good to share. BBQ condiments & sauces, sexy cured delights.etc. Absolute dedication to what they are doing that I love to be a part of.
