Portarlington Golf Club

Do not bother eating at this place. They refused to bring a small bowl of rice for an unwell child. This caused our table of 12 much angst. (8 adults & 4 kids). Firstly they flatly refused, then they agreed they could do it, but in the end another staff member totally refused. Apparently they were low on rice! This is at 6pm. You can’t tell me that’s service.
The food was ordinary at best. And don’t order a steak, the chef can’t get it right and doesn’t know the difference between a scotch fillet & porterhouse.
Besides that our server was rude and didn’t own up that she made a simple mistake. The manager confronted us and made the situation worse than it was. His antagonist attitude was extremely unprofessional to say the least.
Never will any of us return to this place and believe me we will let our friends and family know how we were treated. Doesn’t even deserve 1 star rating either!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were very surprised they they didn't have cheaper meals for lunch or senior meals.
So we had a bar meal of toasted sandwich which was ok

Fantastic facility and enjoyable golf course to play. The staff in the pro shop were very helpful and made the experience quick and easy.

Just tried the new takeaway pizzas. So tasty and delicious! Highly recommend! Had the Texas BBQ one, was amazing

Didn't play golf but went for meals a couple of times wow the meals are huge and beautiful staff were very polite and welcoming great venue for a meal nice and clean too also a large play equipment for children

Great club good course with lots of bunkers, clubhouse is very welcoming for all concerned, happy environment, the place to be & a big shout to the Club for having Guinness on tap marvellous

Fantastic for families for meals. Outdoor playground adjacent to dining area. They provide colouring pencils and pages for the kids. Lots of ice cream flavours.

Really enjoyed the service at this golf club where I enjoyed a beautiful steak meal with a friend of mine who had lambs fry and he commented on how delicious the meal was. The best thing about the whole experience was the price was very reasonable and the staff was very friendly will certainly be coming back to this place for a meal

The blue haired manager was rude to my friends and family as soon as we walked in. It was like she didn’t want us there. We rang to book and were told we didn’t need to. Then when we arrived she got the sooks because we didn’t book.

GOT SICK FROM THE FISH

The steak was frozen, came out tough on the outside but jelly and cool on the inside.

The mussels and parmigiana were okay.

The icing on the cake though was my 11 year old sons battered fish. It was tough and chewy, basically stale.

Half way through the night he projectile vomited the fish all over our caravan, soiling all our linen and completely ruining the already very mediocre experience.

There were pieces of the off fish in his spew.

Clearly the fish was off.

I contacted head management and still waiting for some response on rectification. After waiting 3 day I’ve been told to expect a response in a week.

Amazing food and service. I go here most weeks to enjoy the atmosphere, food and friendly staff. I find it's good for most ages, ice cream for kids, easy and hearty meals for adults and there is always some kind of entertainment on like live music or poker. 10/10 would recommend

We came with locals for a meal. The others in the party all declared how nice their meals were. Unfortunately, I drew the short straw. My roast pork salad was a disaster. The dressing was too sweet for me and the pork looked overcooked and was pretty rubbery. I left most uneaten. 'Your mileage may vary'

Always a great course to play particularly when it's in great condition like it is now. Club rooms immaculate and great little bar menu for the 19th hole!

Most enjoyable lunch with friends who had travelled from Lara and Geelong for a birthday celebration
Food and service was very good and staff friendly

Delicious food, excellent staff. Not too loud, not to quite. Nice seating, tvs around too. Drinks and desserts are great.
