Vern Gowdie of The Gowdie Letter has been claiming the "economic sky is falling" every week since 2014-15 and has recommended all of his readers be 100% in cash since then! Needless to say those readers who took his advice have missed out on one of the greatest share market bull rallies of our time. Whist the risks Vern has been talking about exist in markets, those risks could have been mitigated in a much less alarmist way. Vern's strategy relies 100% on the Gov't Deposit Guarantee and that there will be NO bank deposit bail ins despite the relevant legislation not clarifying this position. Vern doesn't see the opportunity cost of his advice since 2014! Nor in my view the potential risk. Vern has since recommended his readers short the market with inverse funds resulting in losses to date of over 60%! That said I still find his analysis useful as a bearish perspective.

The team at Port Phillip Publishing are independent and don't give you the "main stream" spiel or approach to any subject. Their contempt for the general main stream helps them remain objective and grounded and thats what differentiates their service.

Port Phillip Publishing have provided sound investment advice for a first time investor like me. I'm yet to make any really big gains, but hope to once the coronavirus pandemic settles and stocks recover.

The publishing group provides extensive research on recommended companies. A good point raised from their analysis is that they offer a down side to taking on the recommendation which provides a balanced viewpoint.
Another positive from examining their recommendations is that it saves time for the investor as he or she does not have to analyse every small cap company. The filtering is done.
Do the recommendations always pan out in your favour? No, not all but some do.
Overall, they provide a good service.

I have ben a member of the Gowdie letter for a number of years I enjoy the alternate look at what is happening in the world of finance and why it's happening. Being in your 60's you don't rush out and rosk your hard earned capital as you don't have the time to recover the Gowdie letter for me helps along this road. And it's a good read Vern is very knowledgeable in the aspects of been there done that.

Great service and sound advice. They are more concerned about long term returns than making a new recommendation every month. If the market overall looks weak, they'll let you know.

I subscribe to a few newsletters and have got by far the best results with Exponential Stock Investor. Have already taken some good profits with a few stocks and my current portfolio of exponential stocks is showing a profit of around 50%. Very pleased with the service.

Port Phillip Publishing do provide a broad range of advice which is extremely well researched. Some extremely good outcomes are available provided you have the time to undertake the significant amount or reading required to understand the logic involved.

This is my favourite investment advisory service. I have missed out on a few really good trades but almost all the ones I’ve taken have turned out really well. With gold a little down at the moment I’m still ahead by around 18% which is a better return than bank interest. I recommend Exponential highly, particularly if you have the time for all the reading and research that they send.

I have found that sometimes the reading is taking too long. Also I regularly miss out on getting into trades as they have moved past the buy up to price. I do leave the order in the system for about a week but the price rarely comes back to an entry. I do open my email's well before 10am, usually around 8: 30.

I am relatively small time hobby investor but nevertheless one is always out to try and make profit rather than a loss obviously and to that end, the information on what to buy, when to hold and when to sell some or all of a holding is pretty effective.
No one is perfect but it provides good advice l think.
