Port Campbell Visitor Information Centre reviews
20This was one of the best customer service experiences ever at a visitor information place. Nina you are a rock star! We only had 1 day in town and you went above and beyond with giving us ideas to maximise our time in the area. When I mention our next stop you were amazing at giving us idea's on what to do on the way.
We had the most amazing customer experience of our entire Australian trip in this small visitor center.
You feel they care and love what they are doing!
Please pass our BIG thank you to Nina who made our day and our girls are still talking about her.
Exceptional service! After arriving into Port Campbell late afternoon and having difficulty finding an available unit we went to the visitor centre. Nina was extremely helpful and after making several phone calls found us accommodation, which we were very happy with. Also gave us maps & information on the sites to see. Her service was beyond what we would ever expect. Thank you!
Really helpful. Also, they have binoculars and other equipment available to borrow whilst you are visiting in the area.
We want to sincerely thank the lovely lady who gave us great information yesterday to have a lovely adventure from Port Campbell following the Gourmet Trail to visit the local food artisans and coming back along the B100 from Princeton back to Port Campbell stopping in at all the offshoots to visit the 12 apostles and gorges. It filled in the whole day. It was lovely meeting all the talented and hard working artisans and trying their fare and we even picked up Thai for dinner at the Strawberry Farm and the coastline was really something to behold. The time you spent with us explaining the sites was so valuable and made for such a memorable day. Greatly appreciated Murray and Kerry Clarke, Cleveland, Queensland.
Had the absolute best experience at this place! Nina was so comforting and enthusiastic, she made our visit a 10/10
Worth a visit even if you know what you’re doing, they have a great selection of maps for the national park and surrounding lookouts.
We dropped by looking to fill a few spare days and were told about a bus service which ran three times a week allowing us to park at the 12 apostles and get the bus to Princetown to complete the last 7km of the great ocean walk. Wouldn’t have known about it otherwise!
Went to buy our “holiday-ritual magnet” and got chatting to the lovely lady there. She gave us some great ideas for what to do and a fantastic walking track. She recommended parking at the 12 Apostles and catching the bus (which only runs three times a week), to Princetown and do the last 7km of the Great Ocean walk (rather than the whole 100km). The walk was fantastic and suited what we wanted perfectly! We would never have done this if it wasn’t for the advice given!
Very friendly customer service and very helpful. The lady gave me maps and told me where to go as per my interests.
The people here are truly passionate about their job and I would encourage people to drop by the place. I've read many positive reviews about the place and planned to drop by the place to borrow the Telescope and Binoculars. Nina was there to greet me and my small family, she took the time to patiently explain to us the attractions nearby Port Campbell area (Timboon, Petersborough) and even recommended places where we can have our lunch by the ocean. There is also a model of a Loch Ard ship which sank nearby the area and on of the ship's anchor is displayed near the entrance. If you have the time, you can stay and explore the PC area as the Visitor Info Center have lots of programs to cater for both the young and old. Oh by the way, the telescope is huge (we had to drop our luggage at the hotel first and came back to it can fit the car's bonnet. Also, both telescope and binoculars are free and you can borrow it for the night to explore the night sky! (you have to give your credit card details as deposit). Very interesting Visitor Info Center indeed!
We holiday in Port Campbell each christmas and always make a point of visiting the information centre. The staff are helpful and there is a great supply of postcards and souveniers. The centre has adequite parking but should be situated closer to the beach to take advantage of traffic.
Basic setup in the town of Port Campbell town, Victoria. Very busy during school holiday and festival season. No public toilets facility at the building. A few carpark space in front of the centre or can be parked at the grass area. Staffs were helpful.
Super friendly helpful knowledgeable staff. If there is anything you want to know about the Great Icean Road area Nina is your gal
The service we received from this office was exceptional. The two friendly ladies worked very hard to find us accommodation, and gave us fantastic information on things to see on our last day on the Great Ocean Road, nothing was too much trouble. Very many thanks from John and Sandra - our time in the area was greatly enhanced by your suggestions.
Very helpful guides who explained coast and shipwrecks to my students. A little cramped for a big group but worth visiting.
By far the best information centre I've visited. Very friendly advice given without bias. Questions as to tide times and local fishing were covered by a print out of the weeks weather, tides, swell, moon and sun rise and set, along with a print out of the fishing spots- what to expect and bet baits.
Plenty of brochures of the local and adjoining tourist areas. Following advice from one of the Emerald Isles best exports we visited; a brewery, three cheese venues, a pub with a great GF menu at Timboon, and we were able to visit and enjoy the attractions of Peterborough and Port Campbell well outside the busy tourist bus times. Local knowledge at its best.
The information they have online and on store is really handy for planning your Great Ocean Road trip. Lots of handy stuff ranging from camping, fishing, walking, wineries, distilleries and places to stay. The people are friendly helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Well worth dropping in if you're planning from scratch or just run out of ideas while you are in the area.
Good place to stop to plan everything if you have not planned. Got an answer for all your doubts and worries. Therez always a solution.
Book the helicopter to view the 12.well 11 apostles now.one unfortunately broke after some German wanna do gooder climbed up and cause one of the 12 apostles to break.
He managed to be rescued at OZ costs.but there you go.
Save the tourist is important.
But serious man the looks are awesome.
Informative staff very helpful in planning visit to the area, looking beyond just the typical tour bus stops.really improved our visits to the Great Ocean Road!
