Port Albert Wharf Fish & Chips reviews
62Called in today after hearing so much about this place BITTERLY disappointed! Over priced for undersized scallops.won't be back won't be recommending.
Had fish and chips and so yummy. Batter wasn't too thick or oily and the chips were just right. We had the flathead and the fish was soo fresh. Definitely go back again.
The best fish and chips I have had in a very long time. Local rock flathead is superb. Well maintained establishment and relaxing spot by the sea.
Have your fish and chips with a nautical vibe on the deck next to this beautiful pier. Very reasonable price for dishes and place is never busy even on the weekends. Ample space for parking and dining in. You'll love a cuppa or your seafood basket with a beautiful view off the decking just out of the building. No trouble from seagulls. Quite calm and scenic.
Best piece of Flake I've eaten in years. Huge 'small' chips. Batter could have been crispier but the fish was superb.
Best fish & chips I have had in a long time. Flake was fresh and tender, potato cakes tasted like they did in my childhood and chips although not cut on site were cooked perfectly. Looking forward to my next trip to the area to have it again.
Excellent, high quality food with very generous portions. Stopped in for lunch on a rainy winters day and was served by a friendly person who was more than happy to answer any questions. Toilets were available inside and were clean. Plenty of parking out the front and lovely scenery. Plenty of choices for eating inside or outside. Menu was simple and not extensive but I appreciated that as it was easy to narrow down what we wanted. Food was cooked fresh within 10 minutes and was great quality. Will be back.
Our fish was absolutely beautiful, well worth the price. Chips were horrible and cold. It was very busy day and we were happy to wait almost half hour but we were greatly disappointed with our chips. Very expensive for a small chips, potato cakes and dim sims. Coffee was beautiful. Lovey spot for a day trip.
Amazing. Food was perfect. Beautiful out door seating by the water.
Great customer service.
Highly recommend.
Fantastic Fish & Chips! 100% Worth the drive.
The batter on the fish was thin and crisp, and the fish flavoursome and fresh. The chips were cooked perfectly, with a nice crunch to them. The kids also enjoyed the nuggets, potato cakes and dim sims.
The shop is clean and spacious, lots of seating available either inside the shop or surrounding area. Staff were friendly and efficient. We will be back!
The fish and chips looked genuinely delicious. They had King George Whiting, which I love. Friendly service too
The best fish and chips we have had while travelling around. We had flake, scallops and potato cakes. The potato cakes have a decent slice of potato. The batter is light and crunchy and not too fatty. Excellent, would recommend highly.
Lovely friendly staff who took time top explain the different and new fish choices to us. Always try the Chicken Salt!
Visiting for the day for a family birthday. Fish and Chips very popular as it's a seaside town. Had fish, potato cake and chips. Was good. Shop had a wait as it was lunchtime.
It seems that this place is in good hands again. Fast and efficient, good selection of fresh fish at reasonable price. And the minimum chips are of a good size again.
Very disappointed. Oil so old our chips we're yellow. Fish was average at best. Pineapple fritter was inedible.
This fish and chip shop should be voted number 1. Beautiful fresh tasty flake in light crispy batter. Scallops in batter same as fish and they still and the delicious roe on them. Cooked and served by friendly young ladies. Highly recommend
Popped past on a cool late April afternoon. Seating is in the surrounding
public park which is then surrounded by water. Prices are reasonable. We decided that 10 fish bites was going to be much better value than 2 flakes and were not disappointed. Fish, chips and potatoes cakes were all nice and crunchy.
Second time we have been here and not open. Please change your times if you are not open. Very disappointed. Never again. So much for trying to help local businesses.
Absolutely amazing, best fish and chips I’ve had prices are very reasonable, the menu has everything you want but it was not overwhelming, the homemade tartare was good, the service was friendly. The view was gorgeous.
I liked the calamari batter, but unfortunately it picked up a lot of salt in its texture and so ended up painfully salty.
