Port Albert Retreat (by the sea), is a braw and bonnie place to be.
We came near Burns' nicht, (wor laddie came too).
And we saw the Mythical Kangaroo!
Oh now shall I exclaim afar how beautiful these places are.
And Scotia now, shall one and all, hear of the Great Marsupial!
So Auld Lang Syne, but return shall we, to the Port of Albert (by the sea).

Stuart (after William Topaz McGonagall).

Many thanks Stu, Deb and Angus.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Port Albert Retreat. It is in the best position with great views. The place is beautifully appointed & we were so comfortable. I woke in the morning to kangaroos hppong by as well as bunnies and birds aplenty.
Great hosts who left us all sorts of delicious goodies to enjoy.
Do not stay anywhere else this is the best accomodation in my opinion and we will be back!

I had a wonderful time with my family staying at this beautiful and comfortable house. I am very fussy about my bed but I just loved the beds here. Slept very well after being uncomfortable at previous accommodation. I recommend the drive to Wilson's Prom as it is stunning and great to come back to a comfortable home. Enjoy!

Definitely the best accomodation experience I ever had

Charla was so welcoming and caring, she took a lot of time to get to know us and arrange things to our liking

We were overjoyed with the gift prepared for my wife's birthday and we really loved the handmade goodies!

You will not find the same friendly and caring service from many/any other places

Very relaxing trip in a nice quiet area, the house was very comfortable and had everything we needed e.g suitable kitchen and kitchenware, beds were not too soft, even had a small batch of kids soft toys which my daughter loved!

Will definitely be back again, thank you for the amazing experience

Charla has done everything to make this place so great. The location is serene, so quiet and peaceful. It is Located next to a Ramsay listed wetland with kangaroos, birds and an awesome bushwalk starting outside the front door. While on the walk we saw lots of wildlife including black swans and their babies. We didn’t pass anyone else. And did I mention the sunset. Divine.
The house is very well equipped with everything one would need including sharp knives (often missing from most places) and an awesome welcome treat. Thanks again for sharing your hospitality.

Third time lucky!
Lucky with the weather.
Lucky with the new improved and beautifully appointed “home-away-from-home”.
Lucky with the ever-generous host and hostess, who work tirelessly to take care of our every need: including at home, and visits to amazing nearby towns (Toora), places of interest (galleries) and beauty (Agnes Falls).
Grab a few good friends and lock in a booking!

After winning a competition I was fortunate enough to stay at the retreat and it was superb. Chris and Charla have thought about everything here and the comfort factor is next level. The retreat caters for all.couples, girls weekend, young families (us).
The retreat is spacious and the bedrooms are large with adequate heating and cooling. There is a full kitchen and dining area for entertaining and a lovely deck with seating. We enjoyed the fire and large bath.

We organized a gourmet Gippsland hamper and cheese box which was fantastic and I highly recommend doing so.
We visited Tom’s cap winery for lunch on Charla’s recommendation and we enjoyed lunch and a tasting. The winery is brilliant for young kids with lots of space outside for them to run. It’s a casual lunch spot so fine dining dress is not required.

We will be back again. Thanks again for having us!

The stay has been fabulous - it just gets better every time. The view is just mesmerizing and the house is immaculate. Our adult family were sad to leave, having completed so many activities.

We just loved our week here and surprised how quickly the days disappeared. The weather was just glorious. Thank you again for the goodies that you provide and the hamper was tremendous.

See you again same time in 2023!

We found Charla and Chris to be very helpful and friendly hosts. The house had everything in it that one can possibly wish for and was very clean and userfriendly. The magical sunsets are to die for. Port Albert and surrounds have an interesting history and nice walking tracks. Further afield we enjoyed nature walks to the waterfalls and the famous suspension bridge in the Tarra-Bulga National Park and at Hiawatha. Highly recommended for a relaxing weekend, better still for a whole week or longer.

We were really taken with the quality of this retreat. Features like oak floors, stone benches and soaking tub set it apart from other properties. We loved the original art works and luxurious linen. The view is incredible and certainly makes a stay restful. A beautiful dinner was enjoyed at the local Wildfish restaurant and the General cafe provided the best brunch we've had in a long time. Highly Recommended.

Had a wonderful stay during the Cup long weekend, the retreat location and amenities are great, the rooms are spacious and modern. There is walking track out the front along the marshlands leading to the wharf and township. Very easy to unwind and relax.

The hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable, organised a local produce box which our family loved. We also took their advice and visited Toms Cap Winery and went to Wilson's Prom and Port Welshpool.

My wife and I spent an outstanding weekend at the Port Albert Waterview Retreat in June 2021. Our hosts, Charla and Chris, ensured that our visit was superb in every respect. Their care and attention to detail were excellent. Nothing seemed too difficult for them and prior to our arrival, Charla had arranged reservations for us at the wonderful Wildfish Restaurant and the Toms Cap winery. Charla also ensured we were treated with an amazing hamper of local produce as well as some of her own fine home cooking. This was our first visit to Port Albert and I can assure readers that we will certainly return. We loved the open seaside walks, the friendly and generous people of the town and the wonderful vistas of South Gippsland. We highly recommend Charla and Chris' beautiful seafront retreat with its roaming kangaroos and birdlife. Thanks for a great weekend.
