Point Lonsdale IGA Supermarket reviews
30The kind staff are about the only thing that could bring me back to this establishment. Talk about poor ownership. It is ridiculous to see such a small community divided by this store. There is little to no socialisation accepted amongst young employees. Only to switch personalities as soon as a customer is to approach, seen as they are clearly more important then the staff that keep the show on the road.
I came here to get a loaf of bread. As I walked in, the hum of the ice cream fridge and the glow of a Golden Gaytime caught my attention. I grabbed two and headed for the bread, but quickly doubled back to bring the total to four. As they say "If you had one chance, one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted? One moment. Would you capture it? " I certainly did.
Nostalgic ice creams in hand, I grabbed a loaf of bread and went to pay. The lovely lady working at the checkout noted that it would be cheaper to buy a box of Golden Gaytime's than the four individual ones I had seized. She went to grab the box of Golden Gaytimes for me and saved me a handsome sum. Now that's a local supermarket you can trust.
Really cool selection, clean, friendly staff. Little pricey to be honest but expected for the location
Everyone is friendly. So important to the town. Provides as many jobs as they can for the town's teens.
Friendly staff, always have a smile for their customers. They work hard keeping everything stocked. Fresh fruit & veggies are fantastic, always fresher than other supermarkets in our area. Gourmet selection excellent as well.
Like most IGAs Point Lonsdale IGA offers a fine selection of quality local produce alongside the usual supermarket staples. And check out those views of the Rip!
Very grateful for the help from the team today, especially Alison! A friendly, efficient and extremely kind lot who care about their customers. Produce is always extremely fresh too!
Great place caffe, B&B Holidays Apartments, restaurants beautiful spot. 20 minutes from Geelong 1.45 minutes from Melbourne Australia.enjoy.
Having recently quarantined for 14 days, several times we did, or were about to, run out of essentials. Phoning Point Lonsdale IGA to explain our position, twice they kindly obliged by delivering our small orders in a matter of hours after we placed our order online, outside of their scheduled delivery hours. We greatly appreciated their understanding of our position. Having recently returned to the area, it is this embrace of community service which makes us enjoy life in Lonnie even more. It can't always happen but we consider ourselves lucky that PLIGA made that allowance. Service can only go so far, but we appreciate the value in 'paying a bit more' for groceries if it means we develop a relationship with our 'local IGA'. Goodwill and kindness is a godsend. Thank you PLIGA for your impeccable 'unexpected' service, which I trust you might look to expand in this ever-changing and variable climate. Best Wishes, Luke
If I'm ever on holiday down this way I won't be shopping here. A friend of mine was in here recently and was subjected to a less than ordinary experience from the staff at the liquor store. Your staff need lessons in cultural sensitivity and their behavior and attitude towards my friend and her family was nothing short of disgraceful. If you don't believe me, just go to their Facebook page and have a look for yourself.
Thank you Point Lonsdale IGA for all the practical things you do to help us get through COVID safely
Even though I live just a couple blocks away from this IGA, I prefer the 10 minute drive to Ocean Grove for my grocery shopping. The groceries at this IGA are ridiculously overpriced. Something I've learnt is that by shopping at the Aldi or Woolies in Ocean Grove, it's like automatically being granted a 50-60% discount on my groceries when compared to shopping at this IGA. A lot of the products at Aldi are made in Australia anyway.
Good range of gourmet foods, but my wife didn't appreciate the bossy female behind the register.
To expensive, IGA is a rip off rather spend 5 bucks in fuel and go to ocean grove to buy groceries.
Small variety of necessary things, adapter was broken but we got a substitute without any hassles. Friendly staff, but crowded all times we were there.
Excellent service and product range is fantastic. Wonderful gourmet foods with lots of surprises. Clearly a very well managed store, this just doesn't happen, it takes knowledge, skills and calculated risk taking. Well done, always look forward to spending money here when we visit.
Beaut little seaside town and a great IGA with the normal everything and a few extra holiday gems to munch on.
Hands down the most horrible lunch time experience. No half chickens cooked at midday. No form of savory rolls, unless you buy a 6 pack of plain white and to top it off what supermarket doesn't even sell Big Ms!
If your planning on a trip down for the day bring your food from out of town.
Convenient small supermarket. Good range, seems a bit expensive bit I guess thats what you get for its location.
Go shopping elsewhere before coming to this place. The prices were quite gouged. Beer was standard
