Plaza Deli

This outstanding deli is one of the best in Melbourne. It has an overall Italian flavour, but comfortably embraces other food cultures too. Mary and her staff are unfailingly helpful, knowledgeable and cheery. I'm greeted like an old friend every week when I shop there, and I see this warmth extended to all the other customers too.

Yesterday, on 5th of June I bought at Plaza Deli Northcote salmon pate, frozen lasagne and another small thing. On my return home I checked receipt and noticed that the lady who served me by mistake counted the frozen lasagne twice. Today I especially came back to the shop to clarify the issue and buy sauerkraut and mushroom dumplings. There were two different ladies behind the counter. I took dumplings and went to the counter to pay and report yesterdays mistake. The ladies called a lady called Nona who, I guees, was serving clients yesterday. She said that for sure I bought two packets. I tell them that I am absolutely sure that I bought one but lady on other side of phone definitely denied it. I left the packet of dumplings and left the shop. I did not receive my receipt back. There is no doubt that it is not a disfunction of my memory as I live in a hotel and have no freezer (only mini fridge) so for sure would not buy two frozen packs. Yesterday I was tempted to buy frozen dumplings but because of the lack of freezer I did not. So, thanks, for your service. Now I have no doubts from which shop to keep away.

Best deli in the north! Fresh products, friendly service. I just love going there. Wife: "Do you need anything from the deli? " Me: "No, but let's go anyway. I'm sure I'll find something. "

Absolutely wonderful service and the most delicious Mediterranean food! Ordering custom platters was made easy with Meri's help and she was so warm and friendly to talk to. The platters that she created for me both looked and tasted amazing, and it was great to have such a wide range of quality products to choose from too. Huge thanks to Meri and her team!

What a find in Northcote Plaza the Best Deli ever so much to choose and everything so fresh and delicious. I will now travel from Kew to Northcote and buy my gourmet delights.

Dealt with Meri and got some goods delivered, she was an absolute angel and delivered top tier results. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for boards and impressive setups for dinner parties!

We could a few platters and everyone loved them. Great spreads, lots of options to choose from eg veg, vegan and gluten free extra. Lovely vibe and beautiful down to earth people.

Great service & great range of products! I always buy a panettone from them at Christmas (they stock an amazing range) Throughout the year, their olives & pickled octopus are the best! Staff are mega friendly & helpful too!
