Platypus Shoes

Went in for an exchange and the guy said I can see another store has them but I’m too busy to call. Also when it was my turn they moved me to another counter because they didn’t want to do an exchange. I should just return!

I'm on crutches. I waited in the store as the only customer for 15 minutes as staff chatted. Noone helped me, and i further hurt myself trying to serve myself. But when an able bodied person came in they helped her straight away. When I asked why noone helped me but helped the other customer immediately, the girl sneered at me and said "sorry you feel that way. Customer service doesn't work that way, you have to come ask for help". I can't come ask for help, I'm on crutches, its bloody obvious. Retail has changed a lot if staff no longer bother offering to help their customers.

Brilliant customer service by Bridget! Went to the chadstone branch on the 27th of August 2022. Bridget was lovely and helped me find the shoes I was looking for.

Pretty average shopping experience. Walked around the shop selecting the shoes I liked. Had a whole bunch of them. As I was trying one on over by the mirror, a girl comes and literally puts all the shoes back…. When I asked where all my shoes were she said I put them back. No one had even asked if I wanted sizes? Really bad customer service, she didn’t apologise did communicate that she’d go and grab them again just walked off. I sat there kinda stunned and then approached her again and said are you going to go and get me my sizes for the shoes you put back and she agreed to. Like what the hell? ! Then 30 minutes later, I found another shoe and asked one of the guys if he had a size 8, and he said he’d check. Then 10 minutes later I’m watching him walk around the shop, saying hello to new customers…. He forgot! ‍️‍️

The girl who has coloured her hair half orange surely wanting to quit the job soon as she doesn’t care about customers at all. Very rude and very time consuming. Had to wait so long to get the right shoe size and she failed to find both sizes of the that particular shoe. Don’t recommend this place to shop as you wasting your valuable time.

Staff here doesn’t know what they are doing. Made me wait for 30 minutes plus for a refund and still couldn’t sort my problem out. I lost 44 $ because of their stupidity! The worst place to shop!

I felt very comfortable with him and was able to have a good banter.
He was great with his suggestions and I wanted to buy more than what I came for.

Misleading sales promotion exhibited on window and then ended up there wasn’t any sale at all with the same pair of shoes. Representative responded to my review and said doesn’t sound right at all.

The red NMD got a sale label on in the display window and when we checked it out, the staff said: Oh it must have been a mistake fo putting the wrong label. Sorry about that, everything is pretty much on sale but not for this pair.

What a joke

This is the first review of my life as I never have this type of nature and personality to give some reviews but today I felt very disappointed by this store. As I went with my wife to return shoes which I purchased a day before and it was not comfortable so I went to get bigger size but this lady suzzy rudely said no. As I think that there is no employee there was understandable your query. I never hope that this would happen with such a big known store brand.
As there policy says 30 days return as I think it’s a totally scam because if we buy shoes and doesn’t feel comfy we have right to change it
I understand that if shoes is damaged or any thing lost then it can happen but shoes were in new condition as I have returned in less than 12 hours
Also in last I left the shoes at their store so it can be used for their future sale.

Customer service is very very bad so please don’t trust this store

Large range of shoes’ this is our second visit to the store, didn’t write a review then as we thought maybe it was a one off as they were very busy last time

Yesterday came to purchase runners and sandals, for my daughter, shop empty due to covid’ had to ask for assistance, lady not friendly at all went out the back and came back out’ I had to go up to her as she didn’t bother to come to us’ and ask if they had my daughters size and she just said “no! ”
I said ok! Do you have her size in the other colours?
She then said do you want me to check?
(Kind of considering it’s your job!)

She went and checked and came back gave my daughter a pair’ my daughter went to try them on with no assistance from the lady who was busily doing something else and I turned and said sorry they don’t fit! She said just said ok’ and packed the box up and walked away’
No trying to upsell another pair in a diff brand nothing, we all left went into culture kings where we received amazing service and spent $300 in that store! So clearly wasn’t a one off as last Xmas same time of the year they were extremely busy our daughter had saved money for two pairs of Doc Martins, they didn’t have her size for one’ the guy wasn’t very interested and his customer service was lacking to say the least’ he came back and said we don’t have that size but I may have it in our storage downstairs’ what do you want me to do? (Which is odd asking us as we are there to buy shoes!)
My wife said well she wants to buy them so are you able to get some? He then said well there is a Dr Martin store just up from this store’ we look bewildered and horrified and left where my daughter spent $600 on two pairs of Dr Martins at Dr Martins with exceptional customer service, seems the whole idea of selling shoes is a little too tricky for some!

Yesterday my husband purchased shoes and when I came to return them the lady said it can’t be return because He only wear it one hour moreover I was not taking trial as the shoe was not comfortable and I was taking bit small size
On the other side shoes was in perfect condition and had been return in lesss then 12 hours

However I kept the shoes at the store as they don’t have any good saying in return or any manners to make customers understand that what really other options were

Good range of shoes and brands and fair few caps. Good customer service and the staff there in general are very helpful and accommodating. Definitely recommend this shop and will be sure to come back.

Lots of different shoes. Not enough staff helping customers on the floor. I had to ask the person at the front (counting the customer numbers) to help me - he called for a staff member who seemed to be lost to help me. She found me the shoe size I requested and told me that she’ll come back in a minute to see if I needed help. That never happened and so my mum sought the attention of one of the cashiers to help me. Funnily enough they didn’t know that half sizes existed for the shoe that I wanted. So I went elsewhere

Platypus Chadstone. After wearing 5-10 days, there is problem with material of my Adidas shoes. I went to the store with proof of purchase statement. Manager Alma refused to replace it and also behaved very rude. Store manager has no sense how to talk with the customer. Although I have bank statement for proof of purchase, he did not reprint my receipt. Disappoint with Platypus service. Never gonna buy shoe from here.

Large range of men's, women's and kid's shoes. They have a wide range of Doc Martens as well as caps, socks and accessories. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices can be on the expensive side - look out for sales.

Had a great experience with the assistant and service. Very good service and now they seem to come around the front of the till with your bag of goodies instead of just taking from counter.

I got the doc martens 1460 two times in the colour cherry red the first time I got them they were scratched so I returned them and ordered them again and they send me the same old scratched one's

Won a 100$ voucher on the spin, they said would send us thru mail, bcoz my shoe is at other store. My shoes had reach no voucher nothing, call the customer service will send us an email, never did sent me one. Call then, they say will give it to me personally when we pay, I have a feeling it’s a scam
