Platypus Junction Croydon reviews
10I loved this centre when had Ash as the manager. She was so professional and always supported her staff. I could always go up to her with no hesitation and tell her about my needs and concerns. Loved working with many other staff members like Ben, Quinn and many more. Loved it. Had to resign as I was going on holidays for a year to India. Sad and when came back the management and centre was owned by Guardian. So I was hesitant to go back as I did know anyone there. But have to say when Ash was there it was great with no doubts.
Frequently heard staff yelling at children who were playing, saying ‘no one wants to hear you speak! ’ etc…
We are so happy with Platypus, they have made so many changes recently. I actually enjoy dropping off my 20month old because I know he is going to have a great day filled with activites and great food. We are really happy.
I had high hopes for this centre after reading all of these reviews however I was beyond disappointed.
It was clear that standards had dropped since it opened. It was not clean at all my child’s socks were brown after a one hour orientation. There were multiple cases of gastro, my child was coming home & vomiting often. Staff were run off their feet with too many babies and not enough staff so the nursery was chaos. No cuddles at drop off, it was put your baby on the floor, let them cry, leave and watch them be ignored by the staff. At drop offs I would have other people’s baby crawl on me crying and being ignored by staff while my baby was inconsolable. The communication was subpar, once a week maximum, no app, no updates on nappies, food, naps, bottles.
We are now at a new centre with a smaller amount of babies and more staff in the room, with an app that gives us updates all day long and staff that our child loves and they love him. I realise now what a good childcare centre looks like and this is definitely not it.
The mass exodus of staff is very concerning. There are clearly some underlying issues with the management/new ownership in the past few months.
My son is three years old and has been in this centre for two and a half years. The educators in this centre are care about the kids. My boy especially like Malissa who is take care of him from nursery room to toddler room. She is always very positive and professional. The management team especially Katrina provides good atmosphere for the centre.
My son has been attending Platypus Junction Croydon for 4 years now. I am extremely impressed with the staff and the education he has received throughout the years. Nothing is ever too much of an effort and all staff and management have been extremely accommodating. I would definitely recommend this centre to any parent. Thanks for looking after my boy guys!
I had heard great things about place but I was surprised why. I could see junkies all around the place. It didn’t feel anywhere safe even to pickup my kids leave aside leaving them under care. They don’t even have a security camera to keep an eye but the staff was so indifferent. Nobody on desk doors are all open. This is not to the standards that I have seen other day care centres and obviously they have more engaged and caring staff as well as they are much safer.
Staff is rude, The only good thing is they are new however with a staff like this I am sure it will not last. I wonder if there is any attention to how they treat potential parents, they are too busy to even tell you about the facilities or any other relevant information. If this is how they treat prospective clients the how they will treat the ones who are already enrolled. Shame on a closely knit community like croydon
What can I say! Words cannot describe how appreciative I am of the team at Croydon! As a an early childhood professional I have been nothing but impressed with the educational experiences provided for my daughter! We have only been here for a short while but the amount of learning she is coming home with is amazing! Well done team, keep up the awesome work!
