Have been going here for years. We love it. We have even moved away from Auburn and still travel here for our favourite dishes. Great vegetarian options too.

This is the restaurant affiliated with Babu Ji in St Kilda. Needless to say, their modern Indian dishes are amazing. It’s just located right next to Auburn train station so there’s no way we shouldn’t come back here again. Their vindaloo is simply excellent.

Online reservations were easy. Parking was not too bad. The decor was really nice! The lighting really set the atmosphere as well. Food was good and full of flavour. The service was great. We definitely would recommend.

Ordered momos today one of the worst momo. I never ever had this worst momo. Could have eaten chinese dumplings instead. Very very bas taste. Quantity is good. But no taste. Veey bad taste. The sauce is very bad in which u have put the momo.

I recently discovered this incredible Indian restaurant and I just had to share! The ambiance is delightful and the food is an absolute treat. Every dish is fresh, bursting with flavors, and incredibly delicious. If you're a fan of Indian cuisine, you won't want to miss this hidden gem! The Street food papdi chat is a must have

We've eaten here quite a few times, but also recently held my dad's 70th birthday in the function room upstairs. Food is great and was in large quantities, staff were very helpful.

I wasn’t particularly amused when staff immediately tried to insist we had to do the set menu and claim we should have realised that from the website when the website stipulates no such thing and I had specifically asked when booking whether we could order a la carte.

We also were given a menu without prices and when the bill came we were kind of flabbergasted to find our small entree dish actually cost more than both our mains, had we realised we probably wouldn’t have ordered it. We were also charged for each individual naan rather than as the naan basket of three and just felt they were trying to sting us at every opportunity.

Definitely didn’t feel the warm hospitality we have come to expect from this chain of venues and would certainly class this as well below the standard that has been set by their other establishments

Ordered pork vindaloo through doordash and one piece of them is uncooked as it was still very red inside and a plain roti is inedible it’s actually look horrendous. But a mango lassi is really good. Overall based on a price i paid for totally not worth it.

Not true Indian taste. Food was average. Felt like frozen food was reheated. Staff were nice but failed to understand the order most of the time.

Ambience was ok. Low lights but interior was good.

Food was excellent, flavourful, freshly prepared and so well presented. Portions were well sized and the atmosphere was pleasant. Our waiter was so attentive and assisted us with everything we needed. We had all the veg options and they all surpassed our expectations.

Very beautifully presented. The flavours and aromas are certainly alluring. The staff are very attentive and certainly knowledgeable of their products

Food was delicious, but they took close to 1.5 hours to bring the main courses. Atmosphere was great also.

Great. And truly awful.
Had plenty of lockdown take away from here and it’s always great.
But went on last Monday night to celebrate a birthday. Meat Free Monday for $26 per person.
Our first issue - the waitress couldn’t explain how the menu worked and it turned out that in spite of us being vegetarian we couldn’t order food that met the conditions for the $26 deal because she didn’t seem to know how it worked. No combination of vegetarian dishes seemed to qualify for Meat Free Monday.
In fact the answer to any question seemed to be ‘the $49.90 menu’.
So we order - two of us ordered just for them and then we ordered for the other 4 of us.
The starters came after a bit of a wait. Despite there being 2 starters per person we seemed to get one. Which meant one onion ring croquette.
Over 75 minutes later the mains arrived.
Our group of 2 received the same amount as our group of 4. And the group of 4 ordered additional things.
The 2 group got 1 plate of papadums -so did group of 4, one small bowl of rice for 2, one small bowl of rice for 4. One small bowl of main each. One of the plate of ma’am for 2, one plate for four. There was very little food. I had one piece of naan, no rice as there wasn’t enough and a small main. And I mean small.
Disappointed I went to pay.
$360.
$360 for what I would pay around $75/80 from the same place in take away.
I queried the bill. I explained we ordered 3 of the meals for the $26 deal. No - didn’t qualify.
‘That’s the price’ I was told.
I haven’t felt this ripped off for a very long time. Particularly from a business I went out of my way to support during Covid.
Firstly, the service is very poor.
Next the food takes unacceptably long to serve.
Thirdly, the quantities and cost are at odds.
And lastly, have a menu that can be explained by your staff. Ours couldn’t.
A costly and unfortunate venue to celebrate a birthday.
We all went home and had something to eat.
$360. $360. $360.
No it still seems like a lot of money for very little food.

Love the food, and the customer service. We've only ever ordered takeaway, and the food has consistently been good. Ordered a takeaway this evening and the food delivery company brought the wrong order - the manager ended up bringing our order to us himself, complete with 2 beers as an apology.

Definitely recommend this place!

Ordered takeout (meal for 2) and was impressed with the flavours and quality so we decided to dine in and check out the Meat Free Monday.
Food was amazing once again and packed full of flavour! We wish we could've fit more food in and try more dishes.
The staff were also super attentive but not overbearing. They were always readily available when we had a request and made sure we had enough food and water on the table.
We're already planning our next visit back and looking forward to making our way through the rest of the menu.

Food was good though one dish was considered bland to the taste. The number of patrons put the kitchen under pressure so service could have been faster. Bottom line. Glad to see Piquancy was well patronised.

Unassuming Indian restaurant with friendly staff and excellent food. Very well set up for takeaway and home delivery (great website) but a good atmosphere for eating in.

After eventually finding a park on this stretch of a busy road, we went inside, sat down and began to peruse the extensive menu that does offer a few different things than you'd normally find on a typical menu at an Indian restaurant. It is a shame, however, that the staff don't know what the items are, because when bringing out entrees, they gave the wrong items to the wrong people as a result, and they missed out on trying what they wanted (which could be problematic if you have an allergy or something). My samosas (which were SO GOOD) came out first and only after some questioning, the other items came out, but by that time I was done with them, because the wait was quite extensive. In spite of those hiccups, everyone loved their food.

The mains were good. The food came out all at once this time, which was great, but there needed to be some juggling as the table sizes are small. The kitchen accomodated the few requests we had which was nice, and everything was delicious (except we just could not taste the garlic on the naan or see the chives, which makes me think they gave us plain naan instead).

Basically, other than a few glitches with staff not being spot on that night, the food was great and the atmosphere was nice (along with nice, modern decor) and definitely worth trying again. Parking can be tricky, and so it might be best coming for an early sitting. Would I come back again? Yeah, if I'm in the area, for sure.

Fantastic gluten free options! I visited with someone who has coeliac disease and we both loved the food (and service). Will be back!

Lockdown discovery - sorry I didn't try it sooner! Exceptionally delicious Indian food at incredible value. Fish curry a fave.
