Great overnight stay affordable friendly and good location, bit strange that you have to leave a passport for checkin though

The hostel was a total mess, me and a friend had a twin room where everything was filthy and the sink was the same. The mattress felt like sleeping on a stone. My back still hurts from it. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Not clean, smoked, many strange regular guests, drink alcohol in the common room, noisy, all as we love

Good bagpackers accommodation, quite clean. Provides free breakfast in the morning, would be great if they add boiled eggs in their breakfast menu. Friendly staff. It also has pub and live music. 6 KMs from city and near st. Kilda Beach, reachable by trams.

Good location, ten minutes walk from skybus stop or train station. Discounts at the bar downstairs and the room was clean. Shower and toilets could do with a scrub and would be great if hand soap was provided in the bathrooms

Cold showers, people stealing food, people shouting outside the pub downstairs till 1am so good luck if your rooms above that like ours was, receptionist took my ID as deposit but failed to inform me that reception isn’t open 24hrs, have now left and had to leave my driving licence there as nobody was there to give it back to me (left at 6am). Pub downstairs is fantastic but accomodation is just poor. Taps on sinks broke, nightmare trying to get ready if your working in a morning when nothing works. Also booked a 4 bed for me and my friend to get out of the being in a room full of people vibe and showed up to be told that’s not available and one of us can go in one 4 bed and the other in another one. So just split us up even though we booked together. Or had the choice to go in a 6 together which we didn’t want to do but had no choice. If you enjoy sleeping then don’t stay here in my opinion.

Great hostel, clean rooms and free breakfast downstairs at the bar. Haven't yet had a chance to go to one of their events but will make sure I check them out before I leave.

Has a small kitchen area but the bar downstairs offers 25% off all food whilst your staying so it kinda makes up for it.

All in all a great hostel for the price.

Cheap and clean tidy rooms.
I was I'll when I stayed and I had to call my own ambulance which was fine, but in the hour I waited on stoop, not one person asked if I was ok including staff.
Apart from that I enjoyed it.

Location and maybe the price are the positives.
For breakfast you have only milk, cereals and toast bread with jam. Nothing more. Rooms are a little bit dirty, walls are damaged.

I love this hostel! I’ve made friends for life, it’s an amazing place. It’s easy to get to know new people, the bar downstairs has good prices and lots of different beers, the staff is super helpful and kind (shout-out to Kat in reception, you can’t find a more amazing person than her). The staff cleans the bathrooms and rooms daily, the kitchen is nice and common room cozy. I can’t imagine why someone wouldn’t like this hostel, best one so far in Australia tbh. And plus, the wifi is good and free! If I could I’d give this place 100/10

Fellow backpackers you deserve more! For the price you pay you should expect more much more! It maybe cheaper. However, it is far from value for money. Small rooms, filthy hygiene standards in the kitchen and bathrooms; showers can't make their minds up if they are hot or cold. MICE are everywhere, they pee all over your clothes. There's not much to say that is good, you would seriously be better of elsewhere.

Dirty, noisy. A lot of long term resident, you thing you are in our personal room. Very little kitchen. And a lot of mice! 1 time one person sleep in my bed, the other time the key don’t work. I never see a backpacker like that! It’s bad because some personne in staff are nice and try to help you.

Best hostel in Melbourne. Good rates, nice pub with great food and drink downstairs and a community feeling. The best thing about Pint on Punt is the staff. They are friendly and make you feel welcome. If you have any issues they sort them out quickly. I stayed here for more than 4 months and if I go back to Melbourne I'll definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a couple of months. Met some great friends & had an amazing time. Great location near the beach & nightlife. I still come back for poker every Thursday night at the bar.

Great place to stay if your looking to make friends and meet fellow travellers. Cat at the reception was helpfull with my question always had a smile on. Breakfast was good. The beach is very close and the city is a 10minute ride away. Great place to stay.

I booked this hostel through agoda, and i got confirmation emails from both pint on punt hostel and agoda. Today i was supposed to check in, but after i arrived, they just told me my booking has been cancelled and there's no bed for me and my bf, and then leave me standing in front of the receptionist, struggling to find another place to stay and try to figure out why they took all the information of my credit card and then simply told me they didn't get the money and ask me to leave.
At least someone should have inform me my booking has been cancelled！！！！

Most discusting hostel I have ever seen. I complained but the staff clearly didnt care at all. Dryer doesnt work either but they are still happy to take your money for it. Do yourself a favour and do not go here!

If you are looking for a good night sleep, don’t go here. My room was right above the bar so I wasn’t able to sleep the whole night because of the noise.

Reasonably priced hostel, friendly staff and clean rooms. Our room had a fan, a basin for washing/drinking water and a clothes rack.
