Pieces of Eight Gallery

Have previously bought jewellery here, specifically the tiny opal element stud earrings. On Thursday the 19th, in the afternoon, I took my parents here as my mother wanted to try and buy the matching necklace, she was asking the attendant questions regarding the opal colours and price. The woman working was very rude, seemed uninterested and did not give us the time of day. What a wasted opportunity as we were willing to make a purchase, left us all with a sour taste in our mouth. Very disappointed.

My partner proposed to me with a Melanie Katsilidis Australian blue sapphire diamond ring. We are absolutely floored by its beauty. The architectural design, the jewels, the cut, it’s just out of this world! Thank you so much to Melanie and her team for all the thought, care and class with which you created our forever treasure!

I'm a devoted customer of Pieces of Eight Gallery – the quality of their jewellery, as well as their service, is always excellent. They maintain great relationships with all their artists; they always operate with integrity and with a view to supporting the jewellers and artists they represent and the customers they are serving. I've come to know the team having worked with them over many years, and admire their knowledge of gemology, precious metals and artisanship; as well as their passion for what they do. Also - their store in the Royal Arcade in Melbourne's CBD is incredibly beautiful and well worth the visit. It's one of those Melbourne gems that everyone should know about.

Tucked away in a beautiful store in Russel Place, Pieces of Eight is one of the best jewellery stores in Australia. It features a diverse collection of handmade jewellery from a range of Australia’s best Goldsmiths, designers and artists as well as sculpture, art and more. If you are craving something more than the cheap, mass-produced shopping centre jewellery chains, you will love Po8!

I bought my engagement ring here and will go back for the wedding ring, they were amazing. My fiance and I looked at so many places for a ring but nothing felt like us. This gallery had an amazing collection of jewelers and stones. We felt very welcomed and did not feel at all pressured to make a purchase like most places and they had price ranges to suit every budget. I am in love with my ring, its so unique and the stone is mesmerising. Mine was made by the store owner and is a Silver spinel in rose gold with a knife edge band.

I had a great experience at Pieces of Eight. The ladies were very helpful at finding the right engagement ring and really listened to what would fit my personal style. The ring had to be resized and that was done perfectly within a week. Pieces of Eight is a great gallery if you're looking for a unique piece of jewelry.

Visiting Pieces of Eight always takes my breath away. The gallery is full of amazing jewellery and objects and the staff are lovely and helpful.

Such beautiful jewellery, such terrible service. I made the mistake of thinking that purchasing a beautiful ten year anniversary ring for my wife from the Melbourne store while we lived in Sydney would be ok. When purchasing the ring, I asked the sales assistant that it was a surprise and if my wife didn't like the ring, could we exchange. She assured me that was absolutely fine, just let us know as soon as I gave it to her. I advised of the date and I thought all was good. We then got in contact the day after the gift was exchanged.
The sales assistant had gone on leave and this is where the trouble started. The owner and staff in the store first questioned whether we could exchange, then reluctantly agreed. Then my wife wanted to find out what other options there were, with the prices, to make up her mind. This would be understandable with such a big purchase! They were inordinately slow in replying to emails, days and weeks would go by and they were never there, and just a total pain to deal with. They ended up making what should have been a joyous moment completely sad and frustrating. They made out they were doing us a favour by allowing an exchange, even though this was what had been discussed at the moment of purchase. Totally arrogant.
