Pickles Milk Bar reviews
10 So impressed with the quality of the food and the care from the staff.
As a vegan that has recently learnt of an allergy to soy, it has been hard missing out on a lot of food. I put in my order on ubereats that I wasn't sure if the item had soy in it and I was fine to have it swapped out to something else if it did, but when the order arrived, there was a lovely note on my sandwich saying that while they might not always be able to do this in busier times, they specifically made it for me without the soy milk used to crumb the eggplant schnitzel.
I appreciate the thoughtfulness and the extra effort and even though I absolutely will not be expecting this level of accommodation as a general standard, my partner and I will absolutely endeavour to be returning customers.
The food itself was also beautiful and I'm thrilled by how well the hot chips hold up with time.
Thank you so much!
Staff are so sweet and food is great. Disability, pet and veg friendly all round great place
Tucked in Carlton North, Pickles ain't your tofu-sprouting vegan joint. This milk bar's got balls. Balls of golden, crispy eggplant, disguised as schnitzel, hiding a creamy cashew heart. Smack that on a Blanc Bakery bun, lather it in tangy kraut and mayo, and wash it down with a shake so thick you need a spoon. Forget kale smoothies, this is comfort food, reinvented. Just be there before it's overrun by brunch hipsters. You've been warned.
My favourite place to grab lunch, they’re a great addition to the area! Their gyros is the best sandwich I’ve ever had and their cinnamon rolls and iced filter coffee are my favourites. Everything else I’ve tried has also been delicious so you can’t go wrong!
Incredible food and coffee, and the staff are all so lovely! Highly recommend the breakfast bagel
Delicious vegan food and will definitely be back. Got the Damn Ceaser Sandwich and Vietnamese iced coffee and both were very delicious. Wouldn’t recommend sitting in as most people get takeaway, but there’s plenty of benches in parks nearby. Will ask if they can toast it next time!
Recently stopped by the relatively new Pickles Milk Bar and was instantly taken back by the nostalgia of a traditional Milk Bar.
On offer is a handful of vegan loaded bagels, sangas, savoury pies, potato cakes, loaded fries, dim sims and even a handful of vegan lollies and treats!
They have a handful of bench seats to sit down on, or some milk crates to use to sit on outside, but Pickles is essentially a take-away only location.
I grabbed the Bagel, Hot Chickn Sanga, loaded fries (which used the Birds Eye 'Lamb'), potato cakes, chocolate milk shake and even a cinnamon scroll.
The quirky shopfront screams of nostalgia, and the food does a great job of keeping you completely satisfied - just be mindful that it does get packed at lunchtime on a Saturday (the line was out the door)!
Quite literally the best sandwiches I’ve ever had, with the most sweet angel team ever. It is soon to be an icon within the Melbourne vegan scene, delicious coffee and sweety treaties too
We already love love love this place! Welcome to the block, so happy to have you and your amazing sandwiches, and coffees and cakes and especially soy chai lattes.xx
Literally one of the best cafes in the area. The service is so wonderful and the vibes are so good
