The best Cafe on the Ivanhoe/Heidelberg area. Coffee and sandwiches/rolls during the week and sit down breakfast on Saturdays. Coffee is ridiculously good. Ask for Fidel

Fidel is the heart and soul of this cafe and will make you welcome, remember your name and your preferred drink. The coffee is excellent. Parents and children drop in on the school run. Dogs are welcome. It's a typical example of what I love about Melbourne. Enjoy.

Picket fence cafe in Ivanhoe is well worth a visit. We dropped in here on a Saturday morning after school sport and were warmly greeted on arrival. Drink orders were taken immediately and we ordered a flat white and a mocha which arrived promptly. Both were excellent as you can see in the photos. We ordered poached eggs on toast which were cooked perfectly and pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, also delicious. The service was prompt and efficient.

Best cafe in the area hands down! Coffee is unreal and Fidel is a top bloke. The shakshuka eggs were unbelievable. Highly recommend!

Fidel runs a great cafe in East Ivanhoe village and has a loyal following. As somebody who works all around Melbourne, I would say that Fidel's coffee rates right up there with the best. Food is great, staff attentive, but dude, your music selection needs work

Great local! Open area cafe which is brilliant on a warm day. Had the chicken burger here and it was perfect just like the coffee

We have been going to picket fence regularly because everything there is very tasty and the staff are nice and friendly, but after going there on monday for breakfast and being assaulted by the way over the top loud music that was incessant, I, ll probably look for somewhere a little quieter. People dont need to be entertained with music when they just want to have a meal or a snack, a nice coffee and a read of the paper. We could barely have a conversation.

The staff are very friendly, and all the clients in the cafe seem to be regular customers! That's always a good sign.

This cafe is in the heart of the village and has a fantastic reputation with all school and kindergarten parents. Their staff are friendly and remember your name and coffee order very quickly - something that is missing in a lot of other cafes!

Nice greeting here. It’s a modern cafe and quite pleasant. Nice greeting on arrival, always a good thing. Staff banter and banter with the locals too here which was good to see. My take out long black came in a really cool looking cup. The coffee was good but not top draw. It had a deep rich taste and had unusual and not always pleasant length.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat, possibly one of the best places North of the Yarra for a Bacon & Egg Muffin & Coffee. Was delish

Great food that strays from your average "Cafe sandwich". An amazing range of coffee and substitute milks. A fresh new look on the Cafes in Ivanhoe! Can't wait to go again. I always go there from my Saturday coffee, but it can get swarmed at the best of times so you have to get in early!
