Piatella Cafe Bar reviews
46Everything great, they need to change their entrance is a bit confusing and busy to pay and choose cakes but everything else great.
Beautiful breakfast
Love the interior of the place!
Customer service was great as well!
Love to come again!
Visiting from North America and so happy to have discovered this gem of a coffee shop in Glen Waverley tucked in a little strip mall near The Glen. What can I say?
1) Long Black or Americano as it’s called in other parts- strong enough but not so strong as to be almost burnt. It’s why some of us “get our coffee out” - to escape the home-made tepid versions. Hot milk and whipped cream on side is provided without extra charge
2) OTHER people’s plates - it was breakfast and I only needed a coffee but wow just looking at others eating their breakfast orders was enough for me to endeavor to come back.
3) pastry shelf. - 10-am and yet the desserts still looked so tempting
4) last but not least - friendly and professional staff. Btw - their crepes and waffles are home made.
Definitely will come back to try their meals and enjoy the casual, warm atmosphere. This is the type of cafe that doesn’t have to worry about competition from coffee chains as it is in class of it’s own!
Beautiful restaurant, great service and amazing food! We ordered the steaks and waffles for dessert - steaks cooked beautifully, chips were crispy and paired great with the homemade aioli, and the waffles were my favourite, perfect mix of bananas, strawberries and nutella.easy 5/5, thank you for a wonderful dinner
I have been a customer at Piatella for many years and here is why.
1. The service. I have been served by several waitstaffs over the years and most of them are nice, accommodating and friendly. That’s a big YES for me.
2. My family always have some desserts e.g. Cakes, pancakes, waffles etc.with coffee. They all are generally delicious and consistent.
3. The price has always been reasonable and the ambient is great.
Those are my reasons to like this cafe. Highly recommended and hope you all have great experiences as mine.
The inside is very big, I feel that there are not enough waiters, and I often can't find the waiters. The environment and food are good
Great spot for brunch. Food was delicious with big portion. We were served with great service by staff, highly recommend.
Had the Piatella big breakfast.for $25 i was not impressed.chef burned the toast and hid it under a pile of scrambled eggs.was not just slightly charred, was completely black.should have gone in the bin.not on someones plate.
One of the best places in East Melbourne, super delicious food n great design. Don’t forget ti try their waffles
Ordered Piatella Pancakes with Vanilla ice cream and Southern Fried Chicken Waffle for lunch on Sunday. Total 41.60 AUD. There is a surcharge for Card payments.
The Piatella Pancakes are stack of 3 buttermilk pancakes with caramelized walnuts, blueberries, strawberries, banana, and butterscotch. The vanilla ice cream costs extra 3.00 AUD. The presentation was really beautiful, however there was nothing special.
The Southern Fried Chicken Waffle was presented beautifully as well, however the taste was just okay. The flavor did not complement each other.
The staff were helpful, however the service was quite slow. Had to wait for the staff to take our order, and had to wait even longer for the food to be served.
Very slow service, we use to come here all the time and loved it but I felt like the food was lacking the same love and care they use to
Very busy restaurant in the Kingsway area. We stopped by for some dessert - the strawberry Nutella crepes and berry waffles. Both were nice and hit the spot for a sweet craving. Inside of the restaurant was quite dark and loud, but good for a group dinner.
Lovely selection of desserts, generous waffle servings, and the Greek coffee was nicely brewed. Didn’t make it to trying the crepes, sadly, but overall a hearty post-dinner treat.
Only tarnish on the whole experience was the poster stating the $38 for 6 promotion doesn’t mention, not even in fine print as far as I could tell, it’s only for takeaway and no one we interacted with mentioned it until I settled the bill. I guess it was our fault for not asking…
With the Covit19, sad to go there to have dinner with friends of 4. To start with, they struggle to locate our booking.
The seafood platter was not fresh, smaller in size and price pointing north. The pasta carbonara was in same description.
We spent around $300/ and we had to have supper at home.
Times have changed.better to cook at home.as such outing can be disappointing and costly.
Super busy on fri/sat you should book in advance otherwise expect to wait 20-30mins. But the waffles are really good. I’ve had chai there and didn’t like it that much. It’s kind of expensive for waffles but the waffles are crunchy and warm & so filling. Had to half this with a friend.
There are good reasons why this place is so popular. The food is delicious, the service is fast and the price is great. Wonderful for breakfast, lunch snd dinner. Highly recommend (especially the beef brisket).
A café and restaurant in one. They serve main meals with variety of deserts to choose. Located in a very busy street. Finding for a parking space could be a struggle. We dine here for late night desert (9: 00 PM, Sunday). It was so busy - the street and the Piatella itself. We arrived late in our bookings. They were considerate considering they were really fully booked (bookings and walk-ins) ; they still managed to cater us. Service was average. Staffs were not all nice but the lady who served us was so nice. We love their crepes. It was, by far, the best we had. The lemon tart didn’t pass our liking because we found it dry and it was more of a cake not a tart. Serving portions were generous enough. Coffee, average. The matcha iced latte wasn’t my favourite - it was one of the worst I had. Overall, we did enjoy our late night desert. We still recommend Piatella for everyone who wants to have a good meal and desert afterwards.
Made a booking at 8am on Saturday. Walked in at 7: 58am. Basically barked at us saying they are not open yet even though it says they open at 7am. I walked out and told the rest of our group to meet at Mocha Joe's across the street. We all had a big breakfast there instead.
Next time we'll just skip the overpriced & disappointing dinner (we had Mediterranean lamb) and go straight to the dessert which was yummo
First time. Not impressive. We pre-ordered a week before. Requested to serve at 12: 15 pm. Food was served at 12: 30-12: 45 pm. One member of our team members got plastics piece in salad. I got my roti with lamb Kofta cold. Considering the price, there are better places in Glen Waverley.
