Pho Dzung Tan Dinh reviews
20 I come here about once every two weeks. I've been to about 15-20 different place son Victoria street and also other pho restaurants around the place and this is my favourite pho eat. I think it is the chilli satay oil that sits on every table. Yum! I usually get the vegetarian pho and it comes with 5 pieces of perfectly fried tofu. To accompany the chilli satay oil that I generously scoop into my pho, I alleviate that spiciness with a 3 colour drink (there's a trick - mix it all together and then eat it with the spoon).
I sometimes venture out, or when I'm not in Richmond, and try another pho outlet but I'm usually disappointed since they don't have that chilli satay oil.
I think this is one of the first places I had Pho when I moved to Melbourne in 2000. I loved away from the area sometime ago and forgot about the place to be honest. I rediscovered it in Dec 19 and was abit perplexed at first as I thought the inside was different and thought I was in the wrong place, but then found out that they had redecorated. Not disappointed in the rare beef pho, vegetable pho and dry noodle salad, with grilled pork. Have been several times since and always good. Toilets could be abit better hygiene but better than alot of other places and you dont have to pass through the kitchen.heh.happily return and recommend to other. Prices good.
We ordered rare beef pho and half the beef had freeze burns. We told the waitress about it and she said just take it out of the bowl.guess we won’t be back again.
I got a large rare beef pho and it was absolutely delicious and very filling. Generous portion sizes at affordable prices. Would recommend.
Good food but poor service. They already annouced to reopen on 9th Feb, but then changed the reopen day.
Friends know this place as the 'Cow, Chicken Place'. Great tasting pho for awesome value. IMO one of the best in Melbourne.
Run of the mill vietnamese pho restaurant. Come here for your usual range of vietnamese foods. Decent pricing but the food is average.
When you're a Pho restaurant amongst a sea of Pho restaurants, it's difficult to stand out from the rest.
That statement doesn't apply to Pho Yung.
You're guaranteed to find that special bowl of brothy goodness no matter what your taste is.
Prices are the same compared to the other Pho places so it's pretty much a no brainer coming here.
You will definitely taste the difference.
Have not been here for a year.realized how excellent the pho here is. I think better than the Springvale's.
One of if not THE best place to get chicken and beef combination pho (with all the extras). Tastes like the real thing, not the westernised chicken soup mix / oxo cubes trash that other places dole out. Skip if you like the pop-up places in the city, seek if you like it like they do in Vietnam.
Great little restaurant, and even better pho, seems to be allot more than you see at first glance, the area presents differently to how they do here.the unique modern mix of traditional and what they have here works perfectly, i love the decor and the dishes came out awesome.
Found meat in my take away vegetarian pho after specifically asking for vegetarian stock with pho. Plus the noodle was off and sour so it was all end up wasted. It's a shame I used to really love this place. But the service and food are going downhill and so is the consistency of quality of their pho in the recent years. Don't think I will be back again.
Great selection of food to choose from, authentic taste of Vietnamese pho and other Vietnamese food. One of the best options in Richmond area, definitely recommended place to dine in it you are looking for affordable but delicious Vietnamese food
Only place in Melbourne you'll find me have Pho if it's not at home but still great Pho and great pork chops on broken rice. Management hasn't changed since this place first set up over 20 odd years ago since we first moved to Richmond.
One of the better Vietnamese Pho, rice, vermicelli restaurants in Richmond - no fuss, fairly cheap eat.
If you are looking for Pho, either here or Footscray, dont go to Mekong in the city, I just had Mekong last night and the soup was not even hot. But if you are looking for a "3 colors" drink, Mekong is better.
Food is ok, but only in an average level, it don't taste as well as I expected. A well known Chinese columnist, Lam Chua, who wrote two opinion pieces for Dzung and strong recommend its beef pho & ox blood. He seen Dzung as 'the best beef pho all over the world '. For me its taste do not deserve its reputation.
Good tasty pho, especially amazing on a cold winter's day. There are better pho places around though (in my opinion). Portion size is average.
I had hope but they were slightly dashed by the accompaniments coming after the soup. Our neighbours were nonplussed to receive only mint, not basil.
Bowls are small (for $9.50 tho so), soup is ordinary, meat was ok but plentiful. I am used to bigger bowls, more herbs and fresher meat. Excellent chilli oil.
Made me feel pretty good on a hangover tho. Not terrible, not great.
Really good pho, tasty soup. Clean environment. Soup is hot some places lost favour as they serve siup Luke warm this one's good!
