PHO 888 Box Hill

I had a VERY disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered two medium special beef pho, and the prawn spring rolls. Unfortunately, BOTH of my pho came with hair in it, which was a major hygiene concern. I ended up finding FOUR pieces of hair. Additionally, the waitress was rude when I told her what happened and did not handle the situation well. She replied to me asking, “Okay? What do you want me to do about it? ”, without even apologising for what happened. When I was leaving she insisted I still pay for my meal, and when I said that it was unreasonable for her to expect me to pay, she yelled at me to never come back again. As if I am ever going to go back…

I expected better hygiene standards and customer service! I hope they address these issues for the sake of their customers.

Easily the beat pho in the east. Nothing comes close. The broth is so deep in flavour, and would says its on par with springvale!

Don’t know why the rating is so low, this was the second best (a very close first) chicken pho I’ve had in my life. The flavour of the broth was amazing, the chicken breast was tender and moist even after reheating (I got it delivered) and the chilli oil was like crack. Also super generous toppings of herbs, chilli and lemon. I also got the crispy pork rice vermicelli and it was absolutely delicious!

I used to come here a lot but after the last few times I can’t justify eating here anymore

The owner is very nice I had four little skewers of chicken and Peppers with onions and spring rolls with lettuce and two beautiful Vietnamese iced lime drinks with coconut for $50 pretty good

I have eaten a lot of Phos at a lot of places in Melbourne for the past 10 years. None of them tasted as good as this restaurant and it's not even a close contest.

Not even the Pho places in Springville, which is a Vietnamese Suburb, are as good as this one. If you want tasty Phos, you can't claim to know the best without having tried 888.

Their homemade chilly sauce/paste deserve a special mention. Rich, aromatic, and thick-bodied with a nice roasted flavor and an hint of chilly. Absolute Heavenly!

"Celebrating 20 years" but the quality is nowhere near what it used to be.
I ordered the chicken thigh pho and approximately a third of the "meat" was inedible chewy gristle. The three colour drink and other beverages were $7; outrageous considering other pho restaurants around Melbourne only charge $5.
Won't be coming back.

Didn't end up having a good experience. We order a bowl of pho and the fried chicken rice. The pho seems alright but the chicken rice is so small. Its like half of the size shown on the menu. We ask about it but what I get was a bad attitude from the waitress, the claim nothing wrong with it, its definitely not worth $17. And thats why I choose to give a 1 star.

We are pho and spring roll lovers. But this restaurant’s spring roll is as thick as a finger, and the waitress offered us three cup of coconut drinks made from one cup of original coconut drink with $7 each. Very disappointing meal for us and cost almost $85 Not recommended.

This was poor quality pho. The broth was okay, vegetables and herbs were not fresh and not enough meat. Also very dirty. Generally not a good place to eat

It was weird. We have been going there for 30 years. They ran out of basil? With pho! How can you run out of basil on the middle of Box Hill? Taste was fine but basil free pho? Maybe we'll take our own if we go back.

Guys, remember to ask for a receipt when doing check out, also must make sure whats on the receipt is what you have ordered (won't further comment on this), food size is small, taste not that good, definitely not recommending

Been coming here for pho for 20+ years, they make the best pho in the eastern suburbs, full of flavour, nice broth and value for money.

The best Vietnamese Pho which do not have msg. Try the beef & pork combination. The spring rolls is tasty & at affordable price. They have lots of other type of rice dishes, etc.

Very rude customer service! We left and didn’t order. The ugly waitress can not wait for us to think even one second. When we ready to order she was showing grumpy face to us. This is interesting, there are plenty of restaurants we can chose, we are not paying for grumpy face! Byebye!

I'm your regular customer, I always come to your restaurant dine in plus take away, giving this one star because of your auntie waitress. I'm a part time uber driver and few days ago I came to your shop to pick up an order. Your waitress can't recognise me because I'm almost fully cover myself to protect from cold. I'm waiting quietly without rushing her, answer politely of what your waitress asked me. Let me tell you how she asked me

Waitress: What are you waiting for?
Me smiling to her: Hi I'm here to pick up for XXXXX
Waitress: (Ask again) What are you waiting for?

I answered the same and she scold me said that she never click ready button in Uber platform and I shouldn't attend quickly.

Boss in this restaurant, please educate your staffs especially attitude and tell them every delivery platform is different. We driver cannot see the order is ready or not in UBER Platform. We can see ready status in EASI, I'm not sure others. Please be Respectful to driver.

Your waitress said sometimes order has been wait for an hour and no one attend to pick up, Hey boss, I'm not IT not Customer service in Uber and you shouldn't put all the blame on me? I came to your restaurant within 5mins after I accepted the order that uber assigned to me (which is fast).

I'm trying my best to calm her down, stay polite and convince myself she may be in bad mood, I explained how Uber work to her but obviously she doesn't accept and still scolding me the same thing, what a shame of her attitude, do something Boss Pho888!
