I had the best sausage roll I've had in a long time. It was so tasty the pastry was off the chain.
Will be going back.
Really good bakery that takes a LOT of pride in their products. Unwavering quality & standards through the years and though a bit pricey, once you try their products, you'll know why. Hoteliers you'll find your own favourites by I can't get past the gingerbread men, cookies, breads & crossaints! I'm a regular.
My favourite local bakery that has some of my favourite pastries and breads. I generally order online if I already know what I want to save time. Staff is lovely and welcoming would recommend if you are looking to treat yourself to something special:) My favourites so far are the cardamom cinnamon buns, salted caramel bread and butter pudding plus the stollen bread they do during the holidays.
They should post it that they don't accept cash. Walking till there and didn't take cash! The lady didn't accept cash even if she didn't have to give me any change. It's upsetting. Definitely won't come back!
Coffee was ok, they do not except cash so cant go there anymore.
I didn’t try a $au$age roll as it was $7.50!
Very high end bakery. $$$$
Credit card wasn't working, so tried to pay with cash in March 2021. No go. No cash payments accepted. Not happy!
Ask the head baker how long the sausage rolls sit in the danger zone before he bakes them, and then how long after. It's not safe to eat here.
Edit: I have visited your amazing store and spoke with Anthony and he doesn't know the first thing about food safety. I would be surprised if he hasn't already killed someone with his negligence.
Bought Phillippa’s chocolate brownies at Coles. They were unbeatable. Stale cake wrapped in stale chocolate. $14 and thrown in the bin. Never buy again. Expensive and poor quality.
Always lovely service and baked goods and bread outstanding. Love their Parmesan sables and baguettes (have jambon beurre!). Blessed to have such beautiful food so close to home?
Buyer be careful! Rip off! $10 for a sourdough, compared to all other bakeries in the area selling the same “premium” bread for 40% cheaper. Shame on you for selling at these type of prices, just because you get away with it in Brighton, where people dont care about paying 40-50% margin
Best bakery in Melbourne. The bread is made by traditional methods, using only the best ingredients and everything else they sell is made to the same high standard. Phillippa has worked in bakeries in France and London and she's brought a wonderful eclectic mix of breads, cakes etc.to her shop.
English "Bloomer" bread isavailable as well as little Canele cakes which are a specialty of Bordeaux. And at Xmas time there is heavenly Stollen as well as traditional Xmas puds and yummy gingerbread and spice cookies. If you're a sausage roll fan then you must try the sausage rolls here, they're so good I get hungry just thinking about them! The filling is lean and well seasoned and the pastry is flaky and buttery. And, last but not least, the staff are always friendly and give you a warm welcome.
We stopped by this bakery on our way to the Mornington Peninsula. It had the local bakery feel, and we could tell there was no shortage of locals picking up their 'usual'. We had the sausage roll (with home made chutney) and the focaccia. The sausage roll pastry was flaky, the filling was moist and well seasoned. The focaccia was cheesy and we loved the crispy bits from the edges (we are glad the lady at the counter asked whether we preferred a middle or edge slice!). Would recommend this place
Staff very friendly reasonable prices food is fabulous well done phillippas i will be back for the food again it all looked really good the sasuages rolls taste devine
Everything is good about Phillipa
s produce - from the corn bread to the crunchy and light croissants. The French lady who serves adds a touch of raffinement.
