Perla Tacos reviews
27 Delicious Mexican meals. Assortment of chilli sauce for you to add (and buy). Classic margarita was done very well. Tacos was Yummo.
Kids meal was small but that was fine for my kid to leave room for the amazing churros.
A relaxing, no frills atmosphere with friendly staff and great service. Meals are presented well and a good variety of options to choose from.
Rating a low review due to poor customer service and issues with our food. I found a stick in my taco and not all ingredients were listed for each meal. The enchiladas didn’t state it contained black beans and when ours finally arrived, slow service, it was filled with them. When we confronted the staff member, we didn’t feel acknowledged and our complaints weren’t validated. The lady with blonde hair just blamed it on new menus. We were left unhappy and disappointed.
Lovely fast, friendly service in a vibrant setting. Unfortunately, my tacos and burrito were lacking flavour.
Last night we got takeaway from Perla. It was our first time. We had a chorizo taco, grande nachos, and chicken enchilada. The food was ready on time and quickly despite being a very busy summer weekend. Everything was super delicious and we'll definitely be back. If we had to pick one thing, the serving size of the grande nachos wasn't quite as grande as hubby was hoping for, although he had worked up a big appetite after a busy day. I was more than satisfied with the size of the enchilada. Thanks for a yummy dinner that we didn't have to cook ourselves.
Like two recent reviews below (Julina and Sarah S.), we had a really unpleasant experience with the blond woman who we assume is the manager. It took over an hour for one of our dishes (tacos) to arrive. When we asked the manager about it, she argued with us, saying that "we don't make fast food. " So. WE are wrong to point out that entire tables came, ate and left while we were waiting? Nope. I know what normal/ good service is. The gaslighting is not appreciated.
Really.how many customers do you need to hear from before you change how you act?
Putting aside the service, the food was dry and overpriced. Strongly recommend you eat elsewhere.
EDIT based on manager's response: are you referring to the baby food I gave my 8 month old while we adults waited an hour for our food? More gaslighting. And did we not spend enough to please you? You're really just proving my point for me. I've given you the same feedback as others. Ignore it if you like. I'm done here.
The food was really fresh and flavoursome. Kudos for that. But skinny shaming someone for their order is not on.
“You’re having a burrito AND nachos (looks at the tall lean female), and you’re having a tiny taco (turns to the average height and size 14 female). ” With a judgemental and rude head on what I believe to be the female owner…
Really didn’t need that extremely uncalled for, unprofessional and poor form.
Stopped here for lunch after wandering around the surf shop precinct. Do yourself a favour and make sure you make a stop at Perla if you are in Torquay! Quick friendly service and some of the best Mexican food we have eaten - and we have eaten quite a lot! The fish burrito was next level and the slow cooked beef was unbelievable!
Excellent service and tasty food. This was the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in Australia. We were all really happy with our meal.
Fantastic pulled pork, both in the burrito and the burrito bowl! Loved the range of hot sauces and the $5 beers were just what was needed
Best Mexican restaurant I have been too. I had nachos, tacos and margaritas. All were delicious. The woman who made the margaritas did a superb job but it was amusing when she went looking forward a pen when she had three in her hair.
The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect.
Great little place that respects Mexican food and delivers on its ambition. Lovely staff. Photos are of Nachos, fish tostada and vegetarian tacos. Drink Mojito
Our go to stop in Torquay! Had multiple visits and still one of my favourite Mexican Restaurants ive eaten at. Staff are great and the food is as well!
Lovely staff and authentic Mexican food in Torquay. Great produce and flavors. We were lucky to stumble across this place and would definetely recommend to if you‘re in the area. Hidden gem.
The food quality was very good, although the kids meal sizes are tiny… way, way too small… we even had to make the 6 year old a sandwich as he was starving after that.
Highly recommend changing the kids menu, no way near enough food, thanks.
Otherwise great service, great staff and fantastic food.
Majority of family were satisfied. The grilled fish was crumbed? They claimed gluten free - wasn't confident enough with the nervous waitresses claim so went hungry!
Seriously good! Fresh & delicious food, great cocktails - excellent, friendly & fun service.this place is one of our faves!
Great food and very friendly, accommodating staff. Have had multiple good experiences here. Great time to be supporting local businesses that deserve it.
Definitely worth trying on a night out, the pulled pork taco was the best meat i’ve ever tried. The combined flavours all work so well together. Friendly staff and clean restaurant
Went there for a celebration. Staff were friendly, however very disappointed with the service! Ordered a drink but they ran out of vodka and could not make it BUT they still charged us for it! Service was extremely slow, food was not hot in temperature and the wrong order came out for one of our group members, half of us had finished before they got their meal. They were accommodating with the cake we brought which was nice.
