Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre reviews
71 If this place had an outdoor pull it would be even better. Pretty good gym and great aquatic facilities.
Sadly, though, a visit for a family with a couple of kids is insanely expensive. You even have to pay to watch children swim even if you do not use any facilities.
A membership is better value but even th net is quite costly.
If they could sort out pricing for people who only go once or twice a week and something that families could afford to do once a week. It would be a really great thing because it is a community resource. But at the moment only communitremembers with a good amount of disposable income can go.
My two year old son had such a wonderful time at the centre was the first time he got to combine his favourite things slides and water once he worked it out could not keep him of them
Unfortunately this is one of many child exploitation facilities, protected by corrupt authorities. I was banned when I brought some very odd things up to management. Ideal playfellow for pedeofiles with money to spend.
In the early years classes, the programs PARC offers are great and consistent. However, in the last 12 months, our family has had a few significant issues with PARC.
The first problem we have had is that it had only come to fruition that they had incorrectly input our information into their system, even though we clearly wrote out contact details (So we weren't sent anything in the mail or any phone calls or texts weren't recieved. After I had gone in 2 times prior and provided clear contact details, they still did not record the correct information.
A little while ago, I went in to update payment information due to my credit card expiring. We have 2 children who have memberships and I wanted to update the direct debit information (which are joint) HOWEVER they only update the information for one of my children, so due to information not being updated, we ended up owing $172 in fees and we were locked out of our online PARC account (for one of our children) due to not knowing about the overdue amount until too late.
Finally, as my daughters take lessons here, my youngest has been progressing really well (similar to how my eldest child did), but as soon as she reached the "Fly" level, here progression has stagnated and she remained in Fly 2 for almost a year. This was because her teachers had not checked her progression points and she hadn't progressed due to not being checked off on "safe entry into the pool" which is a requirement at the start of every lesson and when they change pools! This was only rectified after it was pointed out to staff (who promptly adjusted this). Leading up to this is the main issue.
It has also come to light that the instructors at this level had stated they don't have structured lesson plans for the classes. Which is shocking as it is a requirement for any instructor/educator to provide lesson plans for their class to demonstrate how Progression Points will be met or developed. Thanks to this, they have not focussed on the key skills required at Level 3 that should have well and truly developed (such as free style strokes being applied to kicking on their front and being able to kick on their back and learning the correct form when doing torpedoes).
If you look at the negative reviews, the quality of classes and admin and the lack of usability of the online app/website are a recurring thing that doesn't seem to have improved in the last few months.
For what is regarded as such a highly regarded institution, I am severely disappointed with the quality that PARC has offered in its lessons at Fly and higher as well as some of the administration in the last few months.
This is why after 5 years we are removing our children from PARC lessons and looking somewhere else for quality in swimming lessons.
Joined in for a hot and sweaty Treadmill Run, lots of equipment interested gym, really big facilities
Posts in disabled car park are in wrong place for people with disability
They should be removed caused me to have an accident due to placement
Came here for a few casual visits but the gym is way too busy and people spend too long on equipment.there don't seem to be any rules in place.
The Steam room and sauna facility is pathetic you have to spend atleast 30mins to get a sweat going, don't waste your time here if that's what you are after.increase the temperature! Hydropool is great though, spa is mediocre jetts are pretty weak. Paying for parking and casual locker use is just a joke other facilities offer this for free
Exceptional staff, especially Paula, and i've never been to the centre, my mum had a bad fall at some shops just as Paula was passing, she leapt into action and did everything she could to help, she comforted my mum the whole time while we waited for an ambulance, thank you PARC and especially Paula <3
As a bus driver there every week it's dum I have to let my passengers off in to oncoming traffic very poor design
Not enough food choices. As a regular you know it's limited, and tire of the usual boring choices.
Facilities are always clean and staff are always professional. Best swimming centre in the south.
Great to be back at PARC, a fantastic facility, restart exercise routine, meet up with friends again sharing in delight of being back "reactivating" the poor sluggish Covid bodies!
Swimming lessons include free entry at all times for child and accompanying adult. This makes it great value compared to other swimming schools.
Great!
The gym and classes are perfect. The pool is not so great.
The centre has everything you need. The facilities are clean and well equipt. The classes and instrutors are awesome. Their weight room has most the stuff you need to get massive. Their staff are always willing to help.
The pool area is highly chlorinated and leaves a smell in your nose and hurts your eyes.
Great space for everyone, toddlers, young children, adults and the elderly. It has water slides, heated exercise pools, aerobics, lap swimming, a gym and you get your car parking fee refunded on presentation of our receipt.
Excellent facilities especially rehab only complaint.a bit pricey $13.50 for a swim? Everywhere else around $7.50
Wonderful swimming lessons for children, great play facilities and Claudia’s Aqua Fit class never fails to be fun and a great workout.
Great fitness centre. Fitness instructors know their stuff. Also a fun venue for young children. Staff are extremely helpful. Awesome coffee!
Good range of food options for after a big swim. Had a great time with my son going down the slides
