Pelicans Motel San Remo

A bit run down motel. Needs some TLC.
Generally quiet place. Good for an overnight stop over. Family rooms 1 double + 2 single beds available. OK to stay with kids.
In our room one light was not working, some light switches did not work. Exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work properly, so LOTS of condensation when taking a shower. So much that the light in the vathroom started flickering! Definitely needs electrician service!

Room is small, not all channels work, wifi doesn't work either.
The hot water takes ages to heat but the owner is really helpful and nice.

No hot water, not even a doona on the bed. Just an old blanket and sheet. Air conditioner not working properly. Security lights glaring through the old curtain all night. Reception derelict…just false advertising and I was offered $40 refund to remove my review!

Pretty good motel, good location and good price. Friendly staff. Walked in to the room smells clean. Don’t know what other reviews are talking about, I like it. It looks a bit old but everything is functional and clean. Worth the money. Definitely will come again.

The hotel and rooms are so run down! All we can smell is smoke and had to put something across the door to stop the neighbours smoke from coming in the room. The air con has duct tape on it and barely works! No one was at service desk. Had to check in over the phone. The only good thing about this place is the location. The photos advertising for this hotel do not accurately represent what you will walk in to!

Basic rooms, comfortable with air-conditioning that works ideal for somewhere to sleep after exploring all day

Room not clean, found empty bottle from previous occupants, shower has mold, sink not clean, very dusty, outdoor chairs broken, grounds poorly kept. Room has a spa, wouldn’t use it for live nor money. Paid $170 per night for a shitehole. Very very disappointed.

Room booked in advanced was unavailable due to poor reasoning, no communication or consideration to people staying there.no service available on site. Rooms are dark and dingy and dirty. Water takes long time to heat up and you don’t get much of it and poor amenities.
RECONSIDER STAYING HERE

The door has a large gap that is constantly getting freezing winter air into the room. The bed was covered with a sheet and thin blanket (this is winter remember), absolutely freezing. Aircon too loud to run all night. Blanket had cigarette burns in it. They have a sign that said "please smoke outside. If you want to". It's 2022, you should be telling everyone there is NO smoking inside. My parents didn't even smoke inside, my grandparents did in the 60s. Again, it's 2022. Smoking indoors is disgusting. It's not acceptable to allower smokers to smoke indoors anymore. The cigarette burns on the blanket were itchy, you should have charged the guest that did that abd bought a new blanket.
The water in the sink didnt run hot, no hot water for shower. Filled the spa bath once and that was all the hot water gone. I don't understand you having spa baths if you dont give your guests enough hot water?
All in all, it looks better online than in person.
At least it was (mostly) clean, besides the inside of the fridge.

Small but clean. We travel well equipped with food. No real bench space. No place to wash dishes other than the bathroom sink. Lack of space meant we had to use the table supplied. Sometimes hot water took long time to come in. Hats off to the young Asian lass that did all of the work for about 12 units she was very busy with no help.

Minimalist, impersonal room, indifferent reception experience and why was I charged for two nights when my calls to amend my booking were not returned? Totally unnegotiable, of course.

I stayed for 5 consecutive nights. Not once was my room made up, toiletries replenished or rubbish taken away despite advertising daily housekeeping. The WiFi was disconnected. The toilet constantly ran to the point I had to turn off the water at the wall so I could sleep. No one was ever on site to talk to and no one ever picked up the phone when I called. Don’t bother with this place because you won’t get anything close to what you have paid for.

Felt like we stepped back in time to 1970, room was dirty, cobwebs everywhere, fans hadn't been cleaned in months, the place needs a refurbishment desperately. Very expensive, won't ever go back there.

We had booked two rooms as we were traveling with our 2 teenage children. First off, the rooms were 10 rooms apart (would have expected them to be closer). One of the rooms smelled horrendous, and the other was not much better. The rooms were run down, and unclean. The bathrooms were vile- broken shower head and grout missing. The shower screen was not connected properly at all. The playground and pool look like they should be condemned. The WiFi was also not working. For $150+ per night per room, I’d expect a basic standard of maintenance.

The beds were quite comfortable and the parking spaces are nice and wide which was good.

I stayed 2 nights at this motel with my 3 siblings and 2 parents and we had 2 rooms booked.the rooms were clean but the bathroom was a abit dirty and there wasn’t much cutlery and bowls in the pantry.the playground and pool was run down and wasn’t in use at all, overall the bed was comfortable and the Tv worked well.definitely wouldn’t recommend this place and wouldn’t pay the amount we payed for this place for 2 nights.

Pool and playground overgrown and not in use, haven't been for months, kids very disappointed. Whole place in need of renovation, very old and tired.

Was horrified to see the state of the walls and carpet - old and dirty. I didn't dare use the toilet. The shower alternated between super hot and super cold - we had a rude shock while showering our toddler which could have been really dangerous! Rooms had thin walls so we could hear clearly what was going in outside. My husband thought it was "liveable" but I wouldn't have paid that much for such a room! Was incredibly disappointed with the stay and just could not wait to get home.

Apartments needed a good clean other than just the sheets. Carpets and bedspread were filthy and the bathroom not only needed a refit, but a bottle of disinfectant would not go astray. Other than having to ring the manager on arrival, had no other contact so I can not rate the service. At least it was cheap, but you would not expect nasty in such a tourist area.

First we got a call saying they needed to give us a different room before we even left to go there, then in room 10 it was covered in mould so was moved to room 5 same issues! I called the owner and he said he has refunded the money, I'm still waiting 4 days later. Completely ruined our first night away since our daughter was born 3 years ago! We had to go home!

Only one thing is good about this motel is after hour service, that's all. Room is smelly (smoking inside). Wired usage of cloth cabinet for kitchen appliances, dust everywhere not safe PowerPoints. Poor room condition, definitely need renovation, price is too hight for this motel room, should be no more then $50.
