Payne's Orchards reviews
45Really enjoyed picking cherries and peaches, prices are a bit higher than other fruit picking places but experience is worth it
Sorry to say, but felt like too much cost to see a single tree. There is a $5 ticket to enter, due to Covid they have restricted every one to see just one tree. The cost of the cherries is also too high $20 kg. I request you to to remove the entrance charge if you are not allowing people to see around, like others did there.
This is a bit of fun for something different. Just check which fruit is available for picking before committing.
Everything fresh. You'd think it would be cheaper than the local super markets or grocer's (being the middle man/men).
Eating not allowed, entry cheap, but cherry double the market price! Be prepared to spend an hour on feet, in the sun!
Very over priced! Down the road they sell cherries for $10 over here they sell them for $16! The cherries are poor quality, very little and plus we got told off for eating! We wont be back for sure!
Good place those who likes fruit picking plenty of apples to pick and no entry fee. Just pay for what you picked.
This orchard is an absolute apple-picking haven! We were greeted by friendly staff at the counter and after a short walk into the area, we were greeted with beautiful Fuji, Golden delicious and Pink lady apples! My parents were wowed and the kids absolutely loved it. Your staff member Declan was incredibly-accommodating and thorough. We left with so much respect for the farmers who toil to feed the world over with their quality produce. Highly recommended!
The worker was so rude to us. His name is Aldo (printed on his tag). He was calling us so disrespectfully. Instead of guiding us he was instructing us rudely. We won’t be back to this farm again. Sooooo Rude.
GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO PICK YOUR OWN FRUIT
A good education for kids so that they know apples don't grow in supermarkets:)
Friendly staff and convenient break if travelling from Melbourne to Ballarat (or vice versa)
Good place for fruit picking. It's not too crowded compared to the other orchards, like the ones closer to the freeway.
Its a vert good farm but there are unorganized
you need to find out your way and avoid getting in private parts
Had fun picking the new season cherries. Delicious. Bacchus Marsh cherry and strawberry fesitval was loads of fun.
U-PICK Cherry's Apricots and most stone fruits, I have also picked most of Apple varieties.
The farmer operators are well experienced and friendly service!
Good place to spend a few hours. Check their facebook page or call them before hand to know what pickings are available as they tend to change.
Fresh cherries! Pick your own and eat as much as you can. Bring home a bucket of cherries at low low price per kilo. It's really a great experience. Go and try.
Best orchard I've been to so far! They have a variety of fruit trees not just cherries. They have clean porta potties. Unlike some orchards, you don't need to hike or walk very far at all to get to the trees. Merchant cherries were $10/kg with $5 entry fees for adults. Children enters free.
The whole experience was awesome; from the start to the end! The staff is very friendly and the cherries are yummy!
Take the kids and go and pick some apples! Great day out for all. Don’t forget to pack gumboots if it has been wet, farms get muddy quickly
