Pavlov's Duck reviews
50Don't normally come this end of Smith, great meal, Mushroom Forest, friendly staff, coffee as we like it.we will be back
Great cafe that has been running in Fitzroy for a long time with chilling vibe and good customer service!
I love going to this cafe as the atmosphere is really chilling and the mural is cool to take some pictures with.
I love the coffee as they make good quality coffee and their specialty coffee is good. I love Five Senses and their single origin is my cup of coffee
Food is always fresh and the plates are really generous so I sometimes can’t finish all by myself. Some kids menus and good food options for vegans and vegetarians.
Really enjoyed their oat latte the other day
Highly highly recommend best cafe on Smith street!
FOOD WAS BANGING LOVE THR EVERYTJING ON THE SWEET BENNY! DRINKS SUPER GOOD TOO LOVED ALL OF THEM! MOCHA THE GRENE JUICE AND ICED CHAI! YUM! PORTION BIOT DMSLL FOR VAKUE THOIGH ACCORDING TO MEP
Had a week in Melbourne eating out a lot and Pavlov’s Duck was the food experience that stood out. Great coffee and the best avocado smash I’ve ever had, plus the ambience is quirky and fun and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Fusion of Korean and Sri Lankan inspired flavours this spot is a true gem! The Korean owner is also the head chef- every dish is executed perfectly!
The decor is so cute inside and the staff were super friendly.

Really calm and quiet atmosphere, absolutely love the décor. Lighting is very sensory friendly
It's ok, Bit dirty hiding behind the "Fitzroy Hipster" Vibe. Selection of food is ok, tables sticky, glasses still dirty. Coffee was nice.
An excellent cafe - the breakfast options are super and amazingly prepared. Simon the chef/owner is fantastic at what he does, so thoughtful and considered meals. Avo smash on hash, hoppers, chilli scrambled with Sri Lankan/Contemporary fusion - just delicious. I'm a regular for this very reason. The staff are awesome too. Thank you.
Love this place! Lovely staff, great coffee and chocolate, tasty food.
The interior is interesting, lot of details and plants, we love the atmosphere.
Mushroom Forest and Chilli scramble are delicious. Definitely will come back!
A miss on all fronts. The place is filthy - a thick layer of grime coats shelves and products on display. Food has been wrong each of the past three visits and each time the staff have argued that what’s in front of me is what I ordered (only to be corrected by other staff). Staff are rude and show almost no customer service almost every time. Coffee is below par for this area (some barista training may be helpful). There is a distinct burnt oil smell ruminating through the whole place. To top it off, on the last visit I paid top dollar for what was clearly an old, stale almond croissant. Kept trying because they’re local and dog friendly (big tick there) but couldn’t handle the bad food, bad coffee, bad service and filthy environment any longer
New owner since I last visited before COVID. My favourite dirty chai in the past has more tea leaves, and much less seeded spice now. I prefer the previous taste. The menus looks interesting though!
Unusual mix of traditional 'aussi' and Sri Lankan dishes, great for brunch.friendly and efficient service
Great cafe to hang out after shopping all the outlets on Smith St. Nice space in particular I like the bathroom wallpapers ;)
Tried to have breakfast here. Waited 45 minutes after ordering. Staff disinterested. We gave up and went elsewhere. Breakfast here 2 years ago was great. Clearly gone down hill since. Grimy and disappointing.
Ice Americani or ice long black around here.
Definitely worth dropping in if you're near.
Yeah look, it is nice but doesn't have a wow factor. It looks a bit grimey inside and it's noisy. The staff look busy but the kitchen took a while to serve our main meal. One of our dishes didn't come as ordered; a mistake by the server. The food was nice but didn't wow us. Given how many very good cafes we have in Melbourne it's not fair to give this place 4
First time I've had lunch here and had the chilli eggs. It was ridiculously good. So flavoursome and just the right serving size. The staff are super friendly. The coffee is also worth trying in the area. I definitely recommend Pavlo's Duck if you're in the area.
Delicious, simple brunch menu. I had the Hopper and it was perfect. And an excellent coffee too. Friendly staff and interesting space
Nice spot to people watch when you sit out the front on Smith street. A great range of breakfast and lunch options and plenty of drinks (caffeinated or not) on offer.
Order inside with wait times the usual with covid wiping out staff. The drinks were quick nd nice to enjoy whilst the food was prepped.
Will be going again
Such a strange place,
Asked me if I wanted take away, I said no, they gave me take away anyway
Sandwich was so random and badly presented
No water
No check ins (as in checking if I needed anything)
Very ordinary vibe)
Don’t clean tables
