Pause Bar

Usually my friends and I love this venue but recently we had an interaction with the manager (Jack) where he approached us clearly under the influence of illicit substances… his behaviour was incredibly unprofessional as he invaded the personal space of my friends and I which made us very uncomfortable. Not only was he touching our property but when i confronted him stating we weren’t comfortable with his actions, instead of deescalating the situation he told us if we weren’t happy we could leave… (which we did) we consider ourselves regulars and will not be back. The rest of the staff are lovely

Great bar and an asset to Carlisle street! We have so much fun here at Pause bar - The bar staff create such a fun and positive environment, Shannen is absolutely gorgeous and an amazing mixologist! She can make up any cocktail you’re feeling on the spot! She nails it every time and exceeds our expectations! Make sure you try her chilli tequila she makes We absolutely love coming to pause bar and enjoy bringing friends as they also have live music! 10/10 one of Melbourne’s gems!

Great bar with amazing staff who go above and beyond. Booked a function and everything was just so smooth and easy to coordinate which made it possible to just relax, have a few drinks and party the night away. Matt and his team are fantastic! Cant recommend this place highly enough.

Was in last night, Im new to the area and found this hidden gem. Great cocktails, staff were very friendly and made me feel right at home. Cool music and overall vibe! Will be back, thanks guys:)

Very surprised to see how many positive reviews this place has. The staff made us feel like we were a burden as we ordered our drinks, the place had a strange odour and in general not really on the level to be expected from such a cool area.

Had such a fun evening playing some games and then attending the quiz night! Great variety with games for several different group sizes. Really knowledgeable staff who offer to teach you games if you need! Also really friendly and no judge if you ask stupid questions/don’t know answers to the quiz definitely recommend and looking forward to going back again!

I asked for a vodka sunrise and I got something else. It was citracy but I don't even know if it was orange and it had no raspberry. (Yellow drink) ? She said it had double shot of vodka. But I couldn't taste any at all tbh.

The best pub on the Carslile, very chill atmosphere, a great bartender Shannon, who has a secret recipe for Bloody Mary which will leave you senseless and happy.

One of the rare places in Balaclava where you can get a shot or a nice coctail. My place to go when I want to have drink and have a friendly chat with strangers.

Very friendly Bar with amazing cocktails, beer on tap. Perfect for after work drinks or a little catch up with friends or if you are lucky live music will put you in the right mood.

I've been here only twice. Came in tonight. Won't lie. I was pretty angry about being called in for work when it's my night off. Came in for a quick drink. Two girls at the bar (Sam and krystie) totally made my night. These girls are all about the vibe. I'm all kinds of ready for work now. Defs coming back. Thanks girls. See ya next

The staff here are amazing and its well worth a visit. Great local spot for those who live in the area and a wonderful spot for visitors.
