Pauline Gandel Children's Gallery reviews
44Great spot but a bit frustrating that you have to book in (on top of your membership and booking in on the day) plus there is a time limitation (1 hour).
It's located inside the Melbourne Museum.
Great place to let the kids free range.
If you're there, definitely check out the Titanic exhibition.
This is a wonderful place to bring young children. It's safe, vibrant, colourful, and stimulating. There are so many different and fun activities for the kids to explore. It's obvious that a lot of thought and research has gone into preparing this gallery. My grandchildren had a wonderful time there. Highly recommend it, and indeed, the whole museum. Thank you.
Always a great place to visit. We have taken our daughter regularly since born and she's now 3.
Great place, staff are very friendly and there i lots of novelty stuff to play with for the kids. My son loved the dinosaur fossil digging outside in particular.
Great museum, especially for children.
Childrens Gallery closes an hour early.we had planned this at the end, but unfortunately it backfired.
Thought it would be more of a museum setting for kids. There was some stuff to see but overall it's really just a playground. Would be better if it was hands on exhibits.
Great place for very young children and babies. The space is very accommodating for children that aren't walking yet. Great for rainy or cold days.
Make sure to reserve your spot in advance.
Love this place for young kids! There's so much for them to do and interact with. There's an open playspace for babies to crawl around with lots of textures and mirrors. Further in, there's a big area with lights, sounds, animal displays and a big climbing section for the 3-5yo kids. Then outside there's some foam building blocks, a big sandpit and plenty of seating.
They have a good parents room on site too with a nursing room, nappy change room and food prep facilities.
The only downside for me is having to get tickets (included in the price of your museum admission ticket/pass) for the hourly blocks. They can be pretty flexible on weekdays/off-peak about letting you go in early for your session, but weekends can be pretty busy. So for example, if you arrive at 10: 30, you can either get a ticket (if available) for the 10-11 session and then go out and get another ticket for 11-12pm, or you wait 30mins for the next session.
2nd time here, indoor play area is a bit hectic but fun for our 6 & 4 year Olds. Worth a visit
Lots of kids in there makes it chaotic, the outdoor area is nice enough.if only it was a bit bigger
Great day out for the kids (3.5 and 1.5). They easily spent the allocated hour there and also enjoyed the general museum - Dino exhibition. In regards to the children’s area there were a number of older kids who were a bit rowdy and also the toilets/parents area was not clean.
Kids had a ball, good safe environment with good assortment of activities. I would go back anytime with little kids
A great interactive learning and play area within the Melbourne Museum just for the little ones. Those big kids we call adults will be so jealous of this space. Just remember to book a time as numbers are filled very quickly.
Kids had fun inside. Space is relatively small though without much variety. If time is limited in the Melbourne Museum, this can be skipped as kids enjoyed the other parts of the museum.
One mishap where my granddaughter tripped and hit her head on the caterpillar's antenna. But after a cry and a cuddle and a check no major injuries she was back having fun
Wonderful place to bring children. Entry is included with museum entry ($15 for adults, free for children and concessions). There are different play areas suitable for different age groups. An outdoor area to play and explore and a small cafe nearby for energy. Plenty of pram parking and the most amazing baby change/feeding area I've ever seen!
It's supposed to be a safe place for 5's and under to explore. When we visited, there were a number of older boisterous children who were not careful about knocking the younger ones over or pushing them away from displays they wanted to see.
10/10 awesome experience! Kids loved it! Have been 3 times already and definitely going back again soon!
Great sensory play for young children. There's a treetop rope climb for older children. It's only free with a museum ticket or membership, although the first time I asked about it, they let me in for free without a ticket (at the end of the day 15 minutes before closing). The only reasoni gave it four is because it's so dark! Why? ! Have some light in there at least! Otherwise my little one loves it!
