Patterson's Organics reviews
12Good quality produce, but disappointed with the customer lack of customer service I received today. I felt like I was going through the regular Coles or Woolies self checkout. Not once did the staff look at me or talk to me. They just scanned my products and pointed me to the eftpos terminal. They were too busy chatting between themselves.
Love this local organic store. I shop here all the time for quality organic ingredients. The staff are also very helpful.
A small shop that packs a big punch! This store is my go to for organic produce. The fruit and veges are always fresh and there is a terrific range. There is also a fabulous range of organic dairy, pasta, cereals and grains. The price is comparable to other organic shops in Melbourne. The owner and staff are always friendly and welcoming.
The prices are expensive for most items compared to other organic shops and the service is impersonal bordering on rude almost every single time. I worked in retail and hospitality for over a decade and understand customer service, plus I have a social sciences background so I am aware enough to identify unconscious bias discrimination after noticing patterns of behaviour over time. I have shopped at this store dozens of times. One thing I wish to compliment the store on is having some unique pantry items that are not available elsewhere. I also appreciate the generous selection of organic produce. I especially found the organic frozen kale and celery great for smoothies and soups. These items don't exist at Coles. The quality of produce is usually great (apart from a couple of pattypan squashes I bought that were too bitter and ruined my whole dinner once, despite their previous batch being excellent). The prices are high. Areas for improvement: even when the shop is super quiet I often don't get excellent service let alone welcomed or acknowledged. It's great for people who hate or avoid human interaction though I suppose! I also hate being "sold" to and luckily this shop isn't salesy but they could be much nicer when I ask a question or when I am browsing. They will communicate that they are closing soon or some other housekeeping thing without a nice hello first. Other shops remember me if I shop often but I doubt any of the staff remember me. It's obvious. Weeks ago the Irish woman working there asked me to put on a rubber glove after I picked out 2 cherries from a box - no hello, no nice comments first, just the instruction. The only reason I touched a few cherries with my clean sanitised hands was to pick non-partially-rotting ones. I only wanted to buy 5 at most. Even at the major supermarkets they don't have such a wasteful and illogical requirement during the pandemic, though the staff don't seem to apply the same rule to themselves or others touching fresh produce. I could be wrong but had the sense that they don't say these sorts of things to older white men - just a vibe. I haven't shopped there since that last non-inclusive experience. I now shop at the other health food store in Bentleigh.
Update - it is now May 2021 and I have had positive experiences with the new women working there. Love their vegan cheese options too.
I bought my 2nd jar of Vallentines honey from Patterson's organics 37 Patterson Rd, Bentleigh VIC 3204
I loved this honey and that's why I ended up buying again
However on this second purchase the honey inside seems to be completely different, low-grade and cheap quality.
The first one was clearly very high quality and granular.
The second one is bitter, not granular and is clearly seems fully destroyed.
I would need a refund as I paid whopping $34 for it and I would request you do an investigation of this.
The jar also seemed not sealed to me but I can't be sure as I already opened it.

Fantastic service and great range of produce to choose from. I highly recommend them.
If they Asked for products I found them not very Helpful. Am not going to shop there again also their prices are abnormally high
Fresh produce is great and ethical with low food mileage. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. A big range of good grocery products. Seasonal fruit is delightful.
Lovely local organic produce shop with such a great variety of organic products. Very impressed with the presentation and the quality of fresh fruit and veggies. Fantastic place to shop!
Such a great service, fresh fruit and vegetables. Also amazing staff. They actually care for their customers and provide the quality products.
I love shopping at Patterson Organics, the range of products are excellent and the fruit and vegetables are very good quality and great value. The staff are friendly and willing to assist with any questions. All round great shop.
Shopped there the 1st time today (wed 27/6) as moved into the area recently. Noticed the fruit and veg immediately and looks fresh. Although was just wanting organic fruit and veg ended up wandering the store and noticed how many items were available, so ended up buying some cheese, meat, muesli and other everyday stuff. The staff were real knowledgeable and approachable and so easy to deal with. Was stoked I went and will be making this my local main supermarket from today. Thanks guys
