Paper Chase Cafe reviews
32 Coffee was good, on the other hand ordered a white hot chocolate & a regular hot chocolate and got 2 regular hot chocolates instead.
When it came to the Big Breakfast we received a mix of the normal and vegetarian one as they had ran out of certain things and replaced it without telling us, the waitress we mentioned it to seemed frustrated and a bit snarky when we brought it up
Always get good food, service and coffee here. Alot of options available to suit different food preferences.
I have ordered coffee from every single place in Bairnsdale and this shop is way ahead of everyone else. Consistent flavour, hot, and super fast service. Order every day M-F for the last few months and have never had a bad coffee here
First time there, good service, GREAT coffee, chocolate balls were a bit undersized for the price, not too loud for conversation, ill come back to try something more substantial!
Ordered breakfast on a public holiday. 25% surcharge but overall price still seemed reasonable, $50 for 2 ppl inc coffee and bottled juice. Coffee was fine but food was disappointing. Can make better at home. Looked like sliced supermarket ham on Eggs Benedict, they swapped out the Muffin for undercooked plain bread toast. Poached eggs over cooked. Scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry. Decor is old and tired. Probably wouldn’t return. Havent been here for 3 years or so, it’s changed unfortunately.
I ordered the big veggie breakfast. Not very ‘big’, especially for $22. The avocado was rock solid and inedible. I didn’t get coffee, so can’t say anything with confidence, but the coffees I saw other people having looked pretty good. The cafe is attached to a nice little bookstore, which is worth checking out.
Been going here for 6 years and it has always been reasonable. We went for lunch today (9th July 2022). On arrival at 12.15 pm staff advised us that we would have to hurry up as they closed at 1.00pm. We agreed with that and placed our order. The salmon and cucumber bagels we ordered were absolutely disgusting and the coffees were served cold. We do live locally and like to support local businesses but unfortunately won't be back to this one.
You know you are on a winner when the menu has, notify the staff if you are a Coeliac. The owner is Coeliac so most of the menu can be made Gluten Free. Plus all the gluten free goodies available at the counter. Had a lovely breakfast. Will definitely return when passing this way. Highly recommended
Really good cafe, greeted by friendly staff, happy for you to sit and chat, even when you have finished your coffee
Staff very pleasant but very limited menu (usual problem staff #'s). Pleasant surroundings away from traffic & accessed thru great book shop.
Staff was very rude, it was 10 minutes to 4 and girl at the counter said 5 times that they need to leave. She really don’t want to work. I feel sorry for the owner.
Lovely coffee yummy vegan brownie and they also sell gluten free products which are great to take home.
I was getting chased around the store by a piece of paper the whole time.scariest time of my life, and i was in 'nam.
Nice little cafe on the main highway. My chorizo scrambled eggs were a bit rubbery and ordinary, unfortunately, and on soft unsuitable bread. The bacon side was good though. On the plus side they make a nice croque monsieur and the coffee was really good. Service was lovely throughout. Conclusion overall: a bare pass.
Lovely little Cafe full of yummyness! Absolutely spoilt for choice as a coeliac, would highly recommend if you're gluten free. (and also if you're not). Super friendly staff, lovely setting:)
Happy coeliac!
Always love dropping in for a delicious coffee and being able to relax and read my book. Breakfast is always spot on and I love the baked spud. The staff are always friendly with a smile and hello
Great customer service with a very friendly and smiley attitude! Food was very well priced and tasted great!
Had alot of gluten free options and didnt charge disproportionate rates for it.
Great array of Christmas goods.
Highly recommend as a nice cafe in the area!
Absolutely beautiful food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Looking for to going back. Was nice to sit in the courtyard away from traffic and relax.
Great food and drink - my daughter loved the kids lunch - and fantastic, welcoming customer service.
Friendliest staff in town. Great food and coffee and they serve real double cream with desserts.
