Panagia Gorgoepikoos Monastery reviews
18Beautiful surroundings and a really blessed and wonderful place to visit. Holy Seraphim of Sarov pray for our salvation to Christ our Lord. Amen
A very tranquil, serene and spiritual place of worship. Gerontisa and the Nun are always engaging and listening to us, they are there for spiritual support at all times.
Very good advices given and always available on the days Monastery is open.offers prompt delivery on items ordered from Bookstore
This monastery was healing for me peaceful place with my past cancer surviving the nons are respectful and welcomed people from different culture and religion as well thank you for the prayers each time I was there or in hospital God bless you
A very nice and peaceful Monastery. I recommend that if your interested in the Eastern Orthodox Church you should come for a service. Every month they do a service in English, the rest of the services throughout the month are in Greek. The nuns were very nice and welcoming.
Great bookshop.
Church monastery is unfinished at this stage, however the service was beautiful. A real spiritual experience with the nun angelic voices.
Looking forward in seeing the church completed.
A blessing to be able to go to the monastery!
The monastery needs help to finish. I hope we all help!
A beautiful, peaceful and sacred place. Stunning church under construction, well worth supporting. A great bookstore for all things Orthodox related including hand crafted gifts, holy items and artefacts. Online purchasing also available with the sweetest service.
A beautiful monastery in Melbourne for all Orthodox People. I recommend you visit and support this sacred place and enjoy meeting some nuns.
We were on a segway tour of rural Geelong and did a quick search for the nearest purveyor of Greek orthodox literature (Specifically "The Mountain of Silence: A Search for Orthodox Spirituality
by Kyriacos C. Markides") and were directed to this amazing monastery. We spent a blessed and spiritually fulfilling six hours exploring this incredible place.
The monastery and it's grounds were unfortunately under construction and closed to visitors, so we did need to scale a fence, which was a drawback, but understandable, so I haven't deducted any points for that.
We found a caged saint and some newly constructed play equipment. At the time of our visit, no monks were using the swings, which seemed a shame. There was a slight curfuffle when we accidently segwayed over an ancient carpet (rug?) and this let to a "Benny Hill-esque" chase scene involving an alarming number of monks (however many monks you're picturing, triple it! - there was, like, a LOT) - but all in all, an amazing place and highly recommended.
So privileged and blessed to have this monastery! The beautiful new church is coming out magnificent!
The book shop has so much to choose from too and not just books. Make sure you have an extra layer, it's quite breezy, perfect for picnics with the kids when it's sunny. The scenery, the farm animals, such serenity, and the sisters are so welcoming and warm! And the monastery needs support! We All - and Even More Our Children - are in great need of their prayers!
Feast day on October the 1st.
Once you get there, you just don't want to go!
An heavenly blessed beautiful lovely convent with Godsend Sisterhood profound gratitude in compassionate caring kindness and loving Hearts
A welcoming spiritual community. Thank you for your kind works. Icons and books available at very reasonable prices. God blessings
One of the most peaceful and spiritual places to be. When you visit here, it's like going home, you feel warm, safe and loved. The sister's are warm and welcoming and make you feel special. This is my home away from home, not just for me, but for my family too. My daughter's love it here. VERY highly recommended to anyone looking for that spiritual pick me up. You can feel the holiness, just love it.
This is a women's orthodox monastery where you really feel the presence of the holy mother of Jesus Christ. It is so spiritual place and very peaceful! It's very worthy for everyone one to visit it and get the blessing of Virgin Mary.
Nice church with sweeping views of Geelong and Corio Bay. Currently undergoing maintenance. No information or visitor help. So, don't know when it is open to public or if we could go inside.
Beautiful monastery, still to be completed but, with a prominent spiritual aura; located on lovely grounds, which offer an unparalleled view of Geelong, with a childrens playground and picnic area to make for a wonderful day out with the family.
Panagia have helped me a lot throughout my struggles. Every prayer I offered to her and wish, she made it come true. Glory be to God! I also love the place and all the nuns there.
