I had a great experience here. I proposed to my partner over dinner. We really enjoyed the service and the variety of food here. The menu was understandably very meat heavy, but the vegetarian options I tried were high quality too.

We're not wine drinkers but the wine list looked great

It would have been nice to have a couple more feet between us and the next table. It really felt like their conversation got in the way of ours.

Unfortunately they have been sending me spam since I first made the booking even after several requests for this to stop. If a business takes customer service seriously they should also not abuse the customer information they are entrusted with.

Update: forced to lower my review further as I've asked about 5 times to be removed from the junk email list now and they have promised it's done each time. They clearly have no idea what's happening with the data they collect and are using people's information irresponsibly without consent, and continuing to do so after multiple requests to stop.

Fabulous! Everything about Palermo was excellent. Food was amazing. Service was excellent.

Went to this place while visiting Melbourne based on reviews. Very very disappointed with the food. We had the Wagyu MB 7-8 (and some other meats, which took more than an hour) and was the most chewy steak we ever had. We were also charged for house sparkling water. Low quality overpriced food.

Amazing dinner perfect portions and cooked to perfection we were celebrating a Birthday and they made us feel special with a card. Thank you Charlotte for the excellent service

We had the best time. A group of twelve in the semi-private room for an intimate 21st birthday dinner. From the beginning of the night everything was taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the wait staff, and they were very accommodating. The food was delicious and the drinks and wine a perfect complement. It was a night to remember!

Great food. Had a set menu so got to try a few different dishes. Food come out very quickly, didn't have to wait long it at all between courses. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was quite busy and Very loud inside so it was hard to hear staff or friends talk.

I've been here a few times. Wait staff are always accommodating and genuine. On this occasion we had no booking but they fit us in at the bar. Food was great as always. The lady who seated us was very up front about the fact we would likely experience longer wait times as she had to greet customers and seat them, serving us in between. We were more than comfortable with that and honestly the service was still great. Definitely get the skirt steak - you'll thank me later.

I don't eat rare steak but Palermo made me.do it! Everything is so perfectly done! Will be going back again!

Nice restaurant and atmosphere, food was delicious albeit more pricey than I was expecting, just ended up being a bit rushed although we were late to the set booking, so mostly our fault

Argentina steak restaurant. Good atmosphere, good service and good food. Had the recommended scotch filet and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. For starter, we had the empanada and stuffed zucchini flower. Bread and salad were exceptional. As was the Patagonian Pilsner brewed right here in Melbourne.

The food and service are absolutely amazing. Would ho back again and again and highly recommend

After being in 3 different brands of their Argentinian restaurants, I still don't understand why the chimichurri is oili and full off parsley, that's not Argentinian, not even close, and the fugazzeta is not a focaccia with a little bit of onion. The meat was really good, attention great, still a bit expensive.

I went to Palermo Restaurant for lunch to celebrate our 45th weeding anniversary expecting something special as they promised to me over the phone, (thank God I didn’t booked for dinner with the rest of the family).
Our experience was VERY disappointing and I left very upset.
I just said this; if you go to a Japanese restaurant, you’d expect their flavour in whatever you order, plus you also expect good service for the price you’re paying. Unfortunately, I tried, in two separated occasions, to speak with the guy who served us the “meat plates” but he ignored us and he walked away with a rude attitude. Why? If you make mistakes, apologise, but don’t do that to your customers. Please!
I still don't understand why you offer and promoted “Asado Menu”. Sorry, what you served was not Argentinian, not even near.
Ceviche without lemon? Are you kidding me!? We asked for lemon, lemon never arrived!
Cochinillo a la Cruz – Pork slow cooked OVER the fire pit. That was RE-HEATED. Did not have any flavour!
Ojo de Bife – O’Connor’s premium, pasture fed scotch fillet – Hard and full of fat, felt like chewing gum. That was our lunch time experience at Palermo restaurant.
If you read this, please don’t tell me “you’ve been to Argentina”, unfortunately for you, we’re coming from South America and have also had the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world and we know what it’s like to go to different types of restaurants.
Please examine the issue now before it is too late. The reputation of your business will no doubt pay a high price if you believe this act of impudence is not at all significant. If you do not act now, imagine the number of people who will be impacted in the same horrid ways that I and my wife was on our special day.
I can guarantee one thing; I will share this horrible experience with everyone I know and I will protect others from experiencing the same thing at your restaurant. I will withhold such trauma for anybody else. And so, if reputation is important for your business you will take this very serious and if not, then good luck!
Let me finish with this thought; “failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don't fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few errors in judgment, repeated every day and everywhere without remorse”. And finally: Remember this "Sorry" doesn't fix anything when is too late.

I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was. The staff had character and passion for what they do. The atmosphere was fantastic; dark and moody, yet vibrant and buzzing. The food was very good. They are not trying to be anything that they are not, so the food is honest and simple, but delicious. They even have a really good quality wine and cocktail list. Can’t fault this venue for a date night.

Nice ambiance and friendly service. One of the sister establishment of San Telmo. Food was nice, had the grilled chicken liver special, great combination of the saltiness of anchovy and sweetness of caramel. Tartar was great too, tasty and tangy, goes well with the sesame cracker. Meat and the smoked cauliflower as side went well together though we would have preferred bit more smokiness from the parrilla grill. Overall nice feast.

Phenomenal, everything was just top notch. The food, the service, the wine. The chicken was an absolute stand out, followed by the empanadas. Highly recommend trying these two dishes. Then again, you can’t really go wrong with anything.

Palermo was an absolutely wonderful dining experience! The service from staff was brilliant, very knowledgeable and helpful, and obviously very proficient and passionate about their work.
It was quite busy but that managed excellent table service. The food itself was exquisite, and the wines were amazing!
Highly recommended.
