Pakenham Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Market reviews
51Very expensive double then other shops and not fresh they are ripping off local coles more cheap and fresh. I told them how come price is very high. Answer is doesn’t matter Buy or not.that was the answer.
No quality control on their fruit and veg. Have to really sort through to find produce that isn't starting to rot or already rotten. I'd rather travel to Casey Central they are cheaper and have better quality.
It’s a hit and miss place.
I have bought some amazing fresh veggies here, but I have bought some veggies that look okay but are rotten on the inside!
Also, beware of free range eggs on offer - free range usually mean a harder shell and a darker (more tasty) yolk. The free range eggs here have a brittle shell, and seem to offer little taste!
The only saving grace to this place is the Asian vegetables that are not at your supermarket, and the Asian packaged, imported goods!
Reiterating, you take your chances here with regular produce! But exotic Asian veggies, can’t find an equal outside of this location!
Customer service is always friendly!
Expesive average quality veggies with poor service. Guy stocking up straight forward said to us that he is too busy to help. Won't go there again. Better to buy from supermarkets basically have same price.
The price of veggies are so expensive. Even Coles and Aldi is cheaper. Ex. Zuchini 12$ - coles 4.90$
Mushroom 15.9$ Aldi 8.99$
I bought old mushroom once, the owner said cannot return even one day before because I did not see on the day.
Always worth a visit when restocking your fresh produce and has a decent selection of other specialist products that are often hard to find or only sold at specialty stores and the price tags are not too hefty.
The location is also a plus. It's slightly more out of the way than other places but the couple of extra blocks travel can be worth it, especially given its proximity to Tasman meats making it really easy to stock up on balanced meals that are often more cost effective than the supermarket comparison.
A savvy shoppers dream.
A great local supplier with a good range of fruit and veg. Simple low cost layout. Support your local shops.
Such a big array of stock great fresh juices made while you wait. Helpful staff a jewel in a crown
Incredible range of fruit and vegetables. If you're after exotic, rare or foreign fruits and veggies definitely the place to go. Sometimes I come here just to try new things!
I never go here anymore after finding one in every two bags full of green carrots. They think nothing of selling rotten vegetables to the public. Hoping that one day new, responsible owners will take over and believe in providing quality, fresh produce. I pass often, but never go in. A pity. Supermarkets almost as bad I travel by train to Dandenong Market instead.
After going there today.it was bad.
Mouldy fruit.
No cooling.
Smells.
Shame really was a good place
Good customer service!
But some fruit ang Vegetable not good lasting only 2 days and going bad!
Tasman meats are good places for our daily lives. The vegies shop is ok but they sale rotten and unfresh items, you need to be watchful.
Cheap fruit and good quality, the juice they make is amazing, honestly you can’t find a second shop like this in Pakenham!
Have opened a new Fruit Bar. Had Sugar cane juice with my family. It was awful, my wife ended up having a stomach ache. It was only ice water and could hardly taste the Sugar cane.
First thing I noticed when I walked in was an awful stench. Couldn’t tell if it was the mouldy oranges at the door or the smell of the chemicals from them cleaning at the back of the shop. The staff at the bubble tea counter weren’t wearing masks and when asked to put on mask for customer safety, they laughed in my face and mouthed off ever so obnoxiously. The lady who served me either didn’t speak English or was a mute and the prices are ridiculously high compared to coles or woolies. I wouldnt mind paying extra if is was fresh but it’s not. Therefore I Will never ever be back. Not only is food not fresh but the staff are not COVID safe nor polite!
I bought a pink dragon fruit as it was cheap ($3.99) and they aren’t too easy to find and what a waste of money as the underside was all mouldy. I have attached a picture of it
Has expanded and provides an international variety of food items. Quality is mid range and reasonably priced. Parking is good. Make sure you check your bill however as I have been overcharged several times.
Staffs are very rude and racist. Only nice when their boss is around. Very sneaky and should not be trusted.
No problem with owner but not going there again until they change staffs. No thanks!
Very expensive and very dirty and old vegetables. Yesterday i bought 1 melon gaurd (lauki) i spend $ 5. It look like fresh but when i peel and cut it really it is totally rubish. Please sell fresh vegetables.
Found out they have a bubble tea store set up inside the fruit market on your left as you work in.my new favourite place
