Padre Coffee reviews
48 Nice cafe, very friendly staff and good service. I had an Ice latte and tried their coffee roll for the first time, it was alright but wasn't the best roll that I've had in terms of freshness and taste, so I'd give it a 4 out of 5.
And as for the coffee, it was more on the Arabica side I think, I could taste a lot of fruity and acidic flavors which was interesting. I personally like my coffee more chocolaty and Nutty but it was fun to try a different coffee profile but that doesn't mean the coffee wasn't good, just a matter of taste and preferences. Bottom line, I enjoyed my time. Thanks guys
Paid 5.77 for a cup of curdled soy milk. Can’t understand how a place renowned for good coffee can’t make a soy late without curdling the milk?
Here is my best coffee place in Melbourne with no doubt. High quality of coffee. Thier staff are so friendly. Be honest, their bakery is fantastic as their coffee.
This has to be one of the best “magic” coffees I’ve ever had.
The milk to coffee ratio, is second to none.
A good thing about Padre is their Coffee can be purchased in a lot of different places around Melbourne.
Every time I have a Padre coffee, it is great!
Cheers team!
We love this place! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is really cozy. Our favourite is lemonade and almond croissant. We bought one package of ground coffee here, it was perfect (the name is Daddy’s Girls - with hazelnut and creamy flavour). There are some books about coffee that we can read, and kids also can enjoy it too (they have babycino with marshmallows and some books for kids)
Every time I ask for a double shot (which I never end up receiving) they look at me like I am some sort an extraterrestrial. “It’s not tragic, it’s just never good” — my girlfriend
So sad to find that Padre no longer uses Bonsoy
I’m sure the coffee is still really well made, however I like many other soy drinkers don’t like the strong saltiness of unhappy Soy Boy.
This ends my time at Padre for now
I’ve been living in this area for almost a year, today I happened to find out this cafe near my house. The coffee was so good, why didn’t find it sooner?
On two separate occasions I’ve ordered a large coffee in a keep cup and they’ve only filled it up about half way. Coffee was ok, but just was missing half of it haha
One of guaranteed place of good to go around that area. Pastry were quite sweet and delicious and nice coffee.
Amazing coffee. My partner and I were here last week and were informed one of our coffees didn’t meet the barista’s standards and shouldn’t have been sent out, but we’d enjoyed what we thought were perfect coffees. As a result, they gave us both coffees on the house. We were a little confused because both coffees were, to our civilian eyes, perfect, but it goes to show how seriously the staff here take their service and quality. Needless to say, we will keep coming here and enjoying the delicious coffees.
They served me an overdone espresso and an old batch brew.
The espresso is extremely bitter to be swallowed. I feel they like to poison me with caffeine.
At Padre South Melbourne, I got many old and overdone coffee as well. I was expecting a better experience here, but I'm sure I would not come back to drink coffee at any Padre.
I have tried their coffee 3 times. And on all 3 occasions, the coffee was weak. The customer service was ok.
I have been with Padre from the beginning, 10 or so years ago when they were called Brunswick West Project. Their coffee has been consistently amazing. I only just got around to writing my review.
I arrived and was told take a seat and someone would come and take my order. (I didn't get asked for check-in confirmation or my vaccine certificate) I sat there for 10 mins whilst staff walked past, without any acknowledgement. I got up and asked if I could see a menu so I could order. No menu. Which is fine normally, but after waiting and then having to wait even longer for service I didn't stay. A very insincere "apology" was also given.
Delicious soy latte and amazing pastries from Via Porta. Very smooth tasting coffee beans which have been roasted well. Staff are super friendly and I can tell they remember their regulars.
You can pick up your coffee beans to make at home at this store.
Amazing coffee and good service, good staff.
438 Lygon street, Brunswick.
Highly recommended it.
During lock down one of my regular happy moments has been getting my coffee beans delivered in the mail. Every single origin/blend variety I've ordered has been exceptional
Coffee is fine. I cannot wear a mask and have a medical exemption, due to this I was asked to wait outside on a cold rainy day despite there being not a single other customer in the shop. Not nice. Treat people like humans not walking bio security hazards.
Excellent clean light bright space to have a darn good coffee & extra sweets too boot.
