69Great service again at PaddyPallin! Purchased Icebreaker ZoneKnit 125 long sleeve. The guys managed a refund-exchange no problem, which was also super-helpful. Look forward to visiting again soon.
Service from the staff they knew their products and were able to tell me the difference between their products, very attentive
Good range of outdoor clothing, gear & food. Good and friendly service. One of Melbourne's original gear shops.
Oh my, this place got the goods! Staff are super friendly and have big minds to help you make an informative addition to your gearbox. Got my first climbing shoes here! Thanks heaps guys: D
Great service. Shame you have to pay $10 for membership. Most outdoor places offer it free in Sydney.
Friendly staff and a fair selection of items. Not much variety in pants. Good choice of hiking shoes. Staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. Membership program is decent value. This is my go to place for hiking items.
I just bought a Renn 50L backpack and everyone was so helpful in the store, giving me different options and lots of advice on the different bags. Advised me to get a bag cover for the airport too. Helping me choose when I'm a very indecisive person and had almost no idea what I was looking for.
Staff here are so damn knowledgeable. I wish I had his name to publicly thank him but he honestly knew everything about the osprey pack bought and had sage advice about travelling with it. Great service, good price. Thanks
Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. They give good tips and advice for beginners like myself.
Wow wow wow, when I say I had the perfect boot buying experience. Every question answered and every concern dispelled. Em's badge said trainee but I felt the wisdom and knowledge of a seasoned veteran. Cant recommend this store enough, especially if they keep putting their faith in people like Em!
Huge thanks to Tej, Amol, and Cameron (i think) for their expertise and warm customer service. I will certainly be back for my new sleeping bag (and many other things probably)
Just bought my osprey hiking bag from Paddy Pallin. Super friendly and attentive staffs, quick service, lots of stocks and varieties. Highly recommended!
Well stocked outdoor store with a good selection of hiking and camping gear. For particular outdoor products, such as knives, etc.you will be better served by online retailers or firearm dealers. However, I would recommend.
I went to the Melbourne store recently to find myself a hiking backpack and day pack. I was served my MICHAEL who was genuinely amazing, asked me the right questions and referred me to another bag which I didn't even know existed (a hiking backpack with wheels for petite me so I wouldn't be lugging around half my body weight on my back, mind blown!) Can't thank you enough for saving my back for the next two months as I embark South America:)
While I was being served there was a loud bang. We all looked up and someone had walked straight into the big glass wall at the entrance, mistaking it for the door to come in. They hit their head and went down, and everyone rushed to help. The person appeared to be dazed but otherwise okay. They were helped up, steadied, and then took themselves off down the street.
The thing is, I found myself quite unable to generate any empathy or concern for this person. This was due to the fact that they'd been walking into the store while staring intently at their phone. We all saw when our heads turned at the initial sound - the person crumpling, phone in hand, one of the ear buds coming out as they fell, the look of surprise on their face.
Does it make me a bad person for thinking stupid people get what they get, we shouldn't get upset? That a sense of personal responsibility and simple sense is missing in some folk, and that whilst they deserve our help and support, it’s okay to say “hey, wise up already”?
The store has a wide range of camping and outdoor gear, friendly staff.
A big store with an excellent range of gear, including some brands that are hard to find elsewhere in Melbourne. All of the staff I’ve dealt with have been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Once had to return a faulty product (manufacturer’s fault) and they sorted a replacement for me with no hassle.
Poor customer experience. Staff were unenthusiastic and unapproachable. Generally unhelpful to share advice and knowledge.
Large store of outdoor products. Most of the garments are top brands and good quality. 10% discount for members who h is easy to join. Some racks of higher discounts. Very knowledgeable and helpful sales ppl with no pressure to buy.
Great service from Charlotte, thanks heaps. I will have many safe and comfortable walking trips with an Osprey Tempest pack and an Arcteryx jacket.
Had to purchase ICEBREAKER thermal gear for winter bike riding. Great product, fit was excellent, warmth was up to expectations as I bought top of the line products.
