Oye Bombay reviews
70 The service is great with attentive staff eager to assist you.
We had coconut rice with the lamb korma - which is a standout dish with tender lamb cooked in a creamy, aromatic sauce infused with a perfect blend of spices. It's a dish that leaves a lasting impression, with each bite bursting with flavor.
The butter chicken is another highlight – succulent chicken pieces smothered in a rich, creamy sauce, with just the right amount of spice to tantalize your taste buds.
And of course, the breads – naan, garlic naan, and butter naan– are freshly baked and served piping hot, the ideal accompaniment to soak up every drop of sauce.
To cool off after the spice, the mango lassi is a refreshing choice. Creamy yogurt blended with sweet mangoes creates a deliciously satisfying drink that perfectly balances everything out. It was our first time here and it was an immersive journey into the flavors and culture of India, left us with memories to savor long after the meal was over.
Will be back.
Don’t know if it has changed hands but recent order the food was only average and not the same as previously. So sad it was our favourite.
This is by far the best Indian restaurant we have been to. I organized a get together on a Saturday with a big crowd, called up the restaurant much in advance to ensure they accommodate and Pooja did an amazing job. Pooja, one of the staff made sure I pre-ordered the menu to make sure the guests were not waiting.
We got a good table reserved for us right in the middle. We started off with the masala chai and some drinks, which took us down memory lane for sure.
From starters to mains and desserts each item was flawless. Each menu item ensured it fitted our spice level. The sizzler starters with the mint chutney was mind blowing. The mains biriyani, naan breads, with the signature gravy was exceptional. To end it the kulfis were so refreshing. The whole staff ensured we were looked after well. High recommend Oye Bombay to anyone who wants to tasting authentic Indian (North) cuisine.
Delicious! We picked-up an order for dinner - a few mains, some naan, biryani rice - the whole family loved it. The food looked great, and the taste was above par - Definitely exceeded expectations. Edit (two years later). They are getting better with age! Fresh-tasting Herbs and Spices, Real food, well done!
In my opinion it is one of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne. Each time we go here the food continues to be above our already high expectations. The portion sizes are very generous as-well. Couldn’t recommend more!
The food was delicious, the service was very awful. We were in 7 adults and 3 kids under 2 years old. We seated at 6pm and the food arrived at 7.24pm. One hour and half waiting for the food. They just apologize with us at the end. Do not reccomend if you have kids or you are in a rush.
Lovely foods and experience. Nice diner with family. Goat Biryani is my fav. Kids love the butter chicken.
Ordered two lunch deal with two extra nans.
Me and my partner had a food poisoning.
Food was way too creamy, oily and too much artificial colours used. Nans/bread were almost unbreakable. Hard to eat. Had to throw all away.
Placed and order for Panner Biryani. It's the Worst Biryani I have ever tasted. It's too salty there's no balance on masala and the rice. Can't eat it. Every bite I just wanna vomit. Never again I'll order from this restaurant. I wish there was zero star policy. They should shut down the restaurant. Even the street food in india is better than this fancy restaurant.
I've had the pleasure of eating here more times than I can remember and I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to leave a review! Honestly the best Indian food in the state, this comes across in a number of ways aside from the amazing food including the seasonal menu, passionate staff, excellent customer service and the stockage of local beverage suppliers. I would highly recommend, if you're not an Altona local this is worth the drive, I no longer live in the area and I still frequent here.
Highly recommended One of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne.
Delicious dishes excellent customer service.
Delicious curries. Favourite was goan fish curry and karma chicken with saffron and coconut rice.
We have been a very regular customer here and order almost the same dish everytime.
The taste is good, no doubt
Today's experience was a bit unsatisfactory. The chicken was smelling and was off. We did inform the staff, but we felt like it was something that they were least interested in.it was so off that we couldnt eat 2 dishes of the 4 we ordered.
We will give it another chance maybe after sometime, but this is something that definately needs to be taken care of
The food was incredible, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent! Butter chicken is the best in town. The cheese and chilli naan and the chicken lollipop starter were also a hit with us
We visited this place for the first time. Every dish was delicious. The staff served us as per our preferences in terms of spices. Reminded me of my hometown Bombay…. Thank you Harpreet for serving us and making sure everyone at the table is happily enjoying the food. Special thanks to Pooja who was amazing
We will definitely recommend it to our friends.
Cheers!
Great food. Great Service. We ordered a number of dishes for our Friday lunch at work. Everyone was impressed
Everything was perfect. Service and food were absolutely excellent. Cannot wait to get back there again.
Great food with authentic taste and the customer service is just superb!
We’re in love with this place & very sure to keep going back.
This restaurant is the best Indian restaurant in the Hobsons Bay area.great food, great service, great staff.we have tried other Indian restaurants in the area over the years.this is by far the best!
Absolutely loved it!
I'm not even being biased. Their food is epic. On top of that an Indian restaurant which has an equally epic Vegan menu.
Vegan Gobi 65 and Gobi Machurian is something which even meateaters will eat and might skip their meat for that day.
If you really want an authentic Indian taste with no compromise in quality, then this restaurant will never break your expectations!
