OUEST FRANCE BISTRO reviews
15 Great traditional French cuisine. Great service. One of the few quality restaurants that have BYO wine on Mornington Peninsula.
We will be back very soon.
Had an amazing dinner with my work fam tonight. Food was incredible, atmosphere was perfect and service was impeccable.
And those desserts…… yummmm
What an amazing experience tonight. Good, wine and customer service amazing. Everyone needs to experience this beautiful little French bistro.
Dinner last night was VERY expensive. Pea soup was very watery with no flavour. Gravalx salmon was delicious, the scallops main were not balanced with vanilla and butternut pumpkin too sweet and took over the delicious potential from the scallops, the duck was very dry, steak overcooked. Desserts were best pick. Service was good
Wouldn’t hurry back any time soon
Sensational meal. Scollops, duck wines.
Service by Cesar so good. We will return no doubt. It’s a 10 from us.
Great to have this lovely gem in our neighbourhood. Mornington needs more of this type of restaurant alongside (too many) burger etc places. A lot to like, but bread and butter were particularly disappointing in a French bistro. French wine a little overpriced. Hoping this place will flourish.
Terrible food for the price. Ordered an eye fillet steak and the garnish it came out with had a bunch of maggots on it. They took it back and I’m almost certain they just cleaned the garnish off it to remove the maggots and handed me back the same piece of meat (when it came back there was no seasoning at all on the meat). The rest of the food was cold and it ran a bill of $400. Will never go back there, no where near worth the time and money.
Oh my goodness.a last minute decision for a French lunch, the wine pairing, the service, the food! Do yourself all the favours
Less than impressed. While the steaks were perfect, the porkchop was practically inedible, and the owner then went on a tirade trying to perpetuate the image of the stereotypical rude frenchman. Main dishes served with "french fries" meant 2 small bowls of chips shared by 6 people, and "outdoor terrace dining" meant tables on the footpath. Similarly, "smart casual attire" is for the guests while the staff wear t-shirt and shorts.
Not just fantastic for Mornington. Fantastic full stop. If you love classic French food and excellent wine. This is the place.
I have never been so disappointed in a French meal as we all where Saturday night, there is no way it was authentic. I have nothing positive to say about any of our dishes. The steak was garnished with chopped herbs on top but they obviously didn't wash the herbs there were little bugs in the herbs disgusting. The duck was tender but cold and the sauce way too sweet.
Look, what can I say. I will be back. My bad French was tolerated with good grace. The food was excellent. The wine was exceptional. Thank you.
I was hoping to experience simple but delicious, high quality French food. Unfortunately, we felt the food was not worth the price. Everything was ok or fine but nothing was stand out. We had scallops, steak, fries and ratatouille. The bed tartare was very good though! The service was not very friendly, but they were busy and the food was very slow.
Delicious food, wonderful friendly service from the delightful waitress.
The chef came to see all our food was good, and it certainly was. Fantastic steak tartare, delicious fish.
Even the rude customers sitting near us couldn't upset our wonderful experience here. We are local, we will be back.
Delish food, beef and duck, large portions of chips to go with it. Abit of a small place but it's nice to watch the chef at work and service was lovely.
Didn't have a pate' option though: (
