SHOCKING! People with food allergies, beware.
Food quality is still reasonable, however, the food handling is shocking.
I ordered a fried rice today, and I specified not to have prawns. I wrote it in the order chit and I told the waiter that I do not want prawns in it.
However, when the food arrived, a piece of prawn is visibly in the rice. I called the waitress and asked for an explanation.
I was told, they accidentally put prawns in but they took them out.

I was speechless! I was lucky that I spotted the prawns before I ate it. And there they were, telling me they had accidentally added prawns but had tried to remove them. I could have ended up in hospital with an allergic reaction, O'town!
And this wasn't the first time they had got my order wrong. This was the 3rd time! I wondered how many diners had been consuming food which they aren't supposed to. And have no idea what happened.

SHOCKING, O'town.

AVOID! FOOD POISON FACTORY!

Noticed the fish head was off from the first bite, so I asked the waiter to bring me another bowl. The waiter said "just order something else on the menu". I don't know whether this was a hint from the waiter or not, because the fish head from the second serve was still OFF! I eat seafood regularly, so I know what stale seafood is like and how SICK you can get from eating STALE seafood. The WORST part is that this business acknowledge their food is STALE but still choose to serve it to its customers!

谨慎! 严重踩雷!!
鱼头汤米里面的鱼头是坏的。重换了份后里面的鱼头还是坏的。商家明确知道自己的食物不新鲜,还送上来。严重考验顾客的智商。

Delicious Mee Goreng! Service was efficient even tho little amount service staff Food arrived on time (way faster than expected which is very pleasing) and all tasted very tasty especially the mee goreng and rice dish. Will be coming back here for more the next few weeks. Only thing I have to say is why the bread for toast and the roti canai always sold out when I come. Please inform kitchen to have stock available. Hope to maintain the same standards o town.

New establishment and long line expected, but the food is worthy. Some of the dishes were not available. Ordered CKT with good charred, pan mee (missing the mushroom) and penang white curry Laksa (good spicy). All turned up tasty and on point for Adelaide standard. Their menu comes with a lot of familiar Malaysian food choices. Be warned that this place does not serve table water at all. Good space, nice green ceiling deco and self service for extra bowl/plate. Worthy of revisit very soon. Near to U-Park elevator.

Its been a while since i visited O'town. Today, we ordered the special fried rice and Kwey Chup. The fried rice was well friend and had 'wok hei'. The Kwey Chup was just as hearty as I remember it to be. I'll be back soon.

God damn. The best Curry Mee Laksa. A MUST try in Glen Waverley. It might not look like it but this well may be the best Laksa restaurant in Kingsway (step aside the so called "Laksa King". Friendly staff and amazing portions. Go there, try the laksa.

We had the special curry fish head and fish fillet noodles soup. Also, ordered the fish ball kuew teow soup and chicken rice. The curry fish head servings were generous. The curry was ok but not spicy enough. The fish head was nice though. The fish ball kuew teow was good and so were the others. Would come back and try other dishes as this restaurant has lots of choices and are reasonably priced.

Dirty cutlery, average food combined with being overcharged means I won't be dining here - ever again.

Don'tt mind the food as its not bad. What made the experience unpleasant is the head waitress shouting at the younger staff who are clearly trying to do their best.
No customer likes a grumpy waItress!

I've had consistently delicious food at O'town for the past 4 years. We absolutely love the assam laksa and prawn mee. Their prawn paste is spot on, generous and serving sizes are huge for soup noodles. We also enjoy their chee cheong fun. The rojak is good to share with everyone but very simple (cucumber, pear and pineapple). Service is average - not rude but can be hard to get attention when they're busy due to their bell system (you press a button for attention). Food comes out quite quickly. We love coming here for a Malaysian fix! 5 stars for tasty food and good value.

Extensive menu, reasonable prices, friendly staff. They gave me the memory of street food back in Malaysia.

Today was cold and I was craving some hot soup dish, and the Ipoh hor fun definitely hit the spot. It’s more of a light dish that goes down really easily. The noodles are thin and soaked up the soup so it’s really flavourful. The chicken was tender as well. Overall, it’s pretty close to the actual dish from Ipoh so if you want to try something warm and light, try this.

Patronise this restaurant a few days ago, and was satisfied as usual with the fried noodles. This is one of the very few Malaysian restaurant where pricing is still reasonable and portion is satisfying enough, not to mention the quality of food is satisfactory. The only concern is at times the salt level can be over generous and I have to remind myself to inform the staff to reduce the saltiness. As long as they maintain the price, quantity and portion I strongly believe that this restaurant will stand out among the best! Many other restaurants are simply increasing the prices and many household are avoiding eating out.

Went on Saturday night without a booking since everything else was busy and had queue. This place was quiet and almost looked like they were doing some work because there were some ribbon tapes near the front. The menu was extensive, I tried their fish fillet noodle soup which I never had before. Not sure what it supposed to taste like, but the soup was so bland. I like their fish fillet, it was nice. The portion was quite big, but I struggled to eat it as it was very bland. Also tried their roti canai with beef rendang. It was very nice, but very small portion which was weird because everything else was big in portion. Overall was a bit hit and miss, but might try other dishes because it’s quite cheap for the portion.

As a Malaysian who comes to Melbourne, every now and then, my bench mark would be that of KL/PJ/Ipoh/Penang where street food rates at the highest rating.

The street food is mediocre and below average and weakly presented. You would hardly find any non Asian patron here as opposed to other eateries along Kingway eatery. I have eaten in other Asian eateries a tad better but few would be as good as a good hawker in humble Malaysian eateries.

Overall average and even 'good' for those whom don' t benchmark against Penang/Ipoh (Malaysian cities) hawkers fare

'what you dun know will not hurt you' or make you as critical as me.

Hainanese chicken rice was good.
Char kueh tiao (CKT) was not authentic. This dish is sometimes hit and miss when we order. This week CKT resembled half between CKT and beef hor fun flavour. No wok hey taste either!
