Origini Cafe

Had lunch at Origini on a weekday. The staff and atmosphere are lovely. Friendly staff. The garden eating area at the rear of the restaurant is very attractive but was full so we ate in the front area of the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy and service was very slow. We only ordered mains and these arrived about 50 minutes after we entered the restaurant. The pasta dish was very tasty. The slow cooked lamb was very tender but somewhat bland compared to what I expected of the sauce.

What a fabulous find. I’ve been hoping to get here for ages and it was so worth the wait. The warmest welcome you could hope for and food that was absolutely delicious. We will be back. Often!

My husband and I had the most beautiful lunch in their courtyard yesterday. Really flavoursome food, attentive service and we were given a lovely shaded table to enjoy our superb food and wine. We will be back and will tell all our friends visiting Castlemaine to try you as well!

The food at this restaurant is the best you will find in central Victoria. We travel from Bendigo just to eat proper authentic Italian food just like Nonna actually makes.

I really want to like this place but second bad experience here.the first one we waited for about 20 minutes and weren't served, second asked if we would leave soon before we had even finished our food because they had other people waiting.

Excellent lunch in a boutique little Cafe, decor is very rustic and food was incredible. The cappuccino was perfectly made in the proper Italian style also.

First time having lunch at this place. Loved the food and warmth that I got here it was like they are family. The owner Luca and the staff are such amazing people and friendly. Food was divine! The tasting platter is a must try and an affogato to cap off the experience. Service was great with quick and friendy staff. Will glady give 6 stars if I can.

Totally scrumptious food -we had pork balls in slightly spicy tomato sauce followed by superb Sicilian Apple Cake with cream. Really friendly and helpful staff. Bellisimo

Like being back in a trattoria in Italy. Affordable quality food served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The tasting plate for 2 is great value. My friend who had lived in Italy for 2 years was very impressed by the meatball with pine nuts. Interestingly although that it claims a northern influence on the menu there is also a significant southern bent to the menu as well

Absolutely fabulous little gem. The garden in summer is wonderful Luca is just so fabulous you might think you’re in Italy. Service is great. And the food is always good. I’m local so feel blessed to have such a wonderful place on my doorstep

Pork meatball delicious, moist and full of herbs. Apple pie not too sweet and goes well with coffee. While most restaurant close on Monday, Origini is open on Monday. Excellent service.

Wow, what a fantastic surprise, this Italian cafe delivers way beyond expectations. Coffee, Cakes, Wine and an incredibly friendly vibe. Highly recommended
