Orchid Day Spa & Beauty Therapy reviews
42I have done a few treatments with orchid day spa facial, body exfoliating, massage and threading as well. Everytime I enjoyed my treatments. The staff is friendly and professional. I have also recommended this place to my friends.
100% recommending this place for All your beauty needs. Had a massage and facial not long ago.the massage was amazing, the place was really lovely with nice smell throughout and clean.
This “day spa” does not have that feel at all. Cluttered, outdated decor with cushions on the chairs that looks as though they haven’t been washed in years. The “robe”
I was given was FILTHY.stunk of oil and looked grubby. My treatment was also not 100%, included a back massage in the description, however came to the end of the treatment and it had not been done. Had to ask for it…. Awkward. Staff are lovely but everything else totally let the experience down
I have been visiting Orchid Day Spa for years and they provide a fantastic service with well trained staff, a very clean and relaxing and well catered environment and awesome products and services. If you need a bit of tranquility, pampering and relaxation in the city then this is the place to go.
I have been going here for many years. I find the staff to be very polite and professional. I have always had the same girl and she has been fantastic to deal with. Clean, tidy and great experience.
Thankyou ladies for making me feel fabulous!
I’ve been going to Orchid Day Spa for a few years now. I’ve had the same beautician do my nails and most other treatments since day one. The place is clean, staff are friendly and professional and do an amazing job. To top it off, the owner is super quick in responding to my requests, very friendly and more importantly flexible in accommodating appointments to my schedule.
Such good value and the service was incredible! I absolutely love this place and the friendly staff there. I always leave this place feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and re-energised.
Really surprised reading some of the recent negative reviews for Orchid Day Spa. I've been a customer of Orchid Day Spa for over 10 years now and can with the utmost confidence say that the staff are absolutely lovely, professional, such a pleasure to deal with and always welcoming. The premises is always clean, spick and span in fact! I would highly recommend Orchid Day Spa for any of your beauty needs. A big thank you to the team for always being so accommodating, always providing an amazing quality of service and for making me feel like a part of the Orchid Day Spa family over the years!
Very average massage. Therapist was very lovely, however the receptionist was very unwelcoming.
Been here a few times and a few years apart but still fantastic staff and brilliant facials. Total relaxation! And skin felt divine for days after
The owner of this place can’t keep staff and always someone different. Services are mediocre considering the excessive prices they charge and place needs a good clean
Orchid spa is hidden away in one of the alleys near Elizabeth street. I had the body scrub, facial and spa pedicure. The staff were very friendly and I felt in good hands. For the scrub you have to get in disposable underwear and lie in a egg shaped plastic bed, which eventually shoots water at you. The water bed is nice, yet I did notice a small amount of mould (this is why I didn't give the treatment 5 stars). I felt completely safe and secure with Natasha. The scrub didn't last as long as I hoped, but it was still a relaxing experience. The facial was catered to my needs, and I felt they listened to all of my skin concerns. Finally the pedicure, which was my favourite, and I give complete credit for the staff who didn't bat an eyelid to my horrible, dry feet. All up very relaxing and enjoyable, and the price was very reasonable.
I have been going to Orchid to get my nails done for years, the ladies always do a fantastic job, they have an extensive range of colours and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxing.
My wife and I both would highly recommend Orchid Day Spa. They were very kind in accommodating us for a same day appointment and provided for a very relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. Thank you!
Excellent facilities, kind and patient staff, and not pushy at all to buy products or add treatments. Exactly what I was looking for as a new local.
The facial was fine though, though I was expecting an hour facial which was supposed to commence at 3.15 but the therapist was running behind and I get brought in at 3.30. At the conclusion of the facial I checked my watch and it was 4.15. I brought this up as politely as possible to the manager at the time of payment, and then have the therapist jumping in and basically saying I was lying, she had started at 3.15pm. It was a very uncomfortable situation to be in, especially as I was not rude about it. The manger did take $20 off the price, be it begrudgingly. I won’t be going back after that experience! I know now to wait till Sensu have bookings available.
Fantastic massage and facial! Felt like brand new on my Birthday, felt ten years younger even though I was one year older. Thank you guys! Alex and Andrew:)
As a visitor to Melbourne I chose the Orchid Day Spa & Beauty Therapy for a Spa Pedicure. I am so glad and grateful to have been fitted in last minute! The service and ambiance was everything you would expect. My spa pedi was amazing with personal service, high attention to detail, quality products and I feel was exceptional value for money. Thank-You! My toenails look beautiful, my feet feel silky soft and relaxed. I will definitely return when I’m next in Melbourne.
I recently booked an appointment and due to health reasons was unable to attend. I called 20 minutes prior to inform the owner that I was very unwell and was extremely apologetic about not giving more notice, I also informed her that as I am from NSW and would be leaving the following day I would not be able to reschedule. She immediately became very angry and emotional and proceeded to tell me how much of an inconvenience this was and how I could have informed her earlier as many clients called and she could have filled this time slot.
She then asked when I would be rescheduling to which I reminded her I would be returning to NSW the following day. She informed me that it was only fair that I would be charged for the booking using my credit card. This was NOT communicated to me during my initial phone call, and upon inspection of the website it seems there is no formal Cancellation Policy or Terms and Conditions, it is just written on the Contact Us page and states that if 24hrs notice is not given 100% of the booking would be charged to the credit card supplied. Had I been made aware of the policy during the initial phone call I would have been reluctant to proceed with the booking as this is not a reasonable cost. Her attempt at “being nice” was to only charge me 50% which is still excessive and I certainly don’t see as a friendly gesture. I indicated to the owner that I did not have the funds available on that card but had planned to pay with a gift voucher and she was particularly interested in the value of this card. She insisted I come in to pay the cancellation fee using the card when I said I did not have the voucher number with me.
I would suggest the owner familiarise herself with Australian Consumer Law which someone running a business should already be well aware of, which states that “Cancellation fees or charges must reflect your reasonable costs. If they don’t, they may be seen as penalties or unfair contract terms, which you cannot enforce”.
Typically a cancellation cost would equate to 10% of the total booking unless you are otherwise able to justify, and as the owner did not disclose this during the phone call when taking my credit card details and has no formal Cancellation Policy or Terms and Conditions this is most definitely regarded as unfair and not enforceable. Whether you think you can justify a 50 or 100% cancellation fee as a business owner should be irrelevant as it guarantees a 0% chance of me ever becoming a customer in the future which is clearly not of concern to this person. If my card is charged at all I will be pursuing further action.
I had a Dermalogica facial at Orchid Spa. I made sure to ask the receptionist upon booking that the service includes extraction, in hopes of removing some blackheads/whiteheads/small pimples- they reassured me saying yes. When you arrive, you fill out a form and again, I noted my “areas of focus” for the treatment- extraction. I had also written that I had eyelash extensions and made sure to tell the lady who completed the service the same. Overall, the facial felt like a multi step cleansing process with a light facial massage. Although I appreciated the cleansing, she barely did any extractions and it definitely showed. My face looked the same going in and coming out! I understood only so much extraction could be done in an hour, but really, I don’t think she even cleared a single thing. She also forgot about my lashes more than once. Other than losing a few lashes, I also found pieces of cotton that got caught and laced around my eye that I had to slowly pull out myself.
I wouldn’t recommend Orchid Spa from my experience with the Dermalogica 60mins facial. I’d didn’t notice any difference to my skin at all and don’t feel like their staff attended to my needs.
