On Friday 1st of September 2023, my daughter was beaten on her face and scratched on her arm by one of Orchard Grove primary School student (grade 5/6) in Summer Sport basketball match.
My daughter mentioned to the student that she shouldn't hit her, but in her response the Student aggressively said ; "I can and I will! ".
My daughter came back home with scratched arm and headache.
The educational play environment should prepare children for future and make sure all children are aware of social behaviour, and responsibility. If a child is not ready shouldn't be engaged in activities to heart other children.
I just can say, "that's a shame! "

This school was the absolute best when I went there. Learning was fun and exciting and even maths was taught to me in a way that I understood it. I had amazing friends and a really good relationship with my teachers. When I moved my maths dropped down to the point that I was two years behind everyone else and my handwriting became impossible to read. This school is amazing, I would highly recommend to send your kid there. I wish I could go back to my primary school years there, it was the best school experience I’ve had.

One of the best primary schools in the Blackburn area. Principals are really great and care for the kids. Teachers and staff and friendly and helpful. Kids are taught compassion, friendliness and respect.

Pretty good school but some of the teachers are quirky and biased, and also apparently things have turned to hell since 2021 but oh well

Former student here, apparently the school has completely gone mad since i left.my little brother was beaten up multiple times and people intervening got in trouble it got so bad he had to drop out, a kid was choked out last month and some of the greatest teachers have left or been fired.it was ok during my attendance but it’s seems like people have just gone mad there.a couple of years ago i would’ve recommended, but now i wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Hi, former student here (graduated ps in 2018!)! This is a fairly decent school for you to send you kids, great playgrounds, decent teachers, great canteen menu, good programs. The school camps begin in year 3 and are all mostly amazing. In year 1 and 2 there are 'warmups' for camps which include the year 1 afternoon tea and the year 2 sleepover! There are also many dress up/free dress days (my favourite was book week dress up day). There are areas for sports which include an indoor basketball court, three outdoor basketball courts (one of which has a netball ring instead of a basketball ring at one end), a library filled to the brim with great books (along with a computer lab, although last i checked it wasn't in use), a performing arts centre, and two ovals. There are a total of 4 playgrounds. Some things to be aware of though is that the buildings are almost always locked at break times so if your child has to go and get their hat/put their lunch away/get something they need and it is in a classroom, they most likely will be unable to get it. On a higher note, Orchard grove is close by and host to several sport clubs such as Blackburn south netball club, the Rams football club, blackburn south cricket club, the list might go on. Overall this is a good placed to send your children for their primary education, I certainly learned a lot there with the help of my teachers and peers. This school is home to a mostly wonderful/welcoming/supportive community of people.

Good school but not enough supervision. Has a history of some violence and bullying but great teachers and kids and good for learning

I sent to Orchard Grove Primary to offer some voluntary hours. It was great to be met with respect, friendliness and time to discuss various options. Both the ladies were kind and really helpful towards me, and assisted one after the other. It was a great experience for me as it is not always that you are so welcomed in a school office. I liked it that they gave time and did not push or pressure for time. Thank you ladies.

Orchard Grove is an amazing school. It has a big yard, 4 playgrounds, amazing teachers and amazing students. It is a great place to go.

All the teachers know you, the school dog visits the classrooms. Even the principal says hi! Those pictures of the school are out dated, that brown playground does not exist and the red one has paint chips. Around the tiled podiums, a tree has grown and there is no more grass. Also that other playground, that’s at a separate park. Just let y’all know that.

School was good, Mr Gnanam ruined it. I think he had some sort of problem.

If your reading this,

THANK YOU FOR RUINING MY PRIMARY SCHOOL.
